I know some reggae songs, but I'm just starting to get into it. If anyone can reccomend some good albums/songs/artists that would be awesome. I really like this song!

OK I have been listening to reggae for 30 years. I listen to more roots type reggae versus dancehall. Here is a short list.
Modern reggae:
SOJA, Rest of my life, [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X572Mp_r46E]Rest of My Life by SOJA - YouTube[/ame]
Tribal Seeds. The Garden, [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gUHGzKS2dAE]Tribal Seeds - The Garden - YouTube[/ame]
Stick Figure, Shelter, [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t-YQT2BBXik]Stick Figure - Shelter - YouTube[/ame]
Leah Rosier, Music teach me, [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DFTFjc06U3U]Leah Rosier - Music Teach Me (Acoustic) - (Reggae for Africa - giro 555) - YouTube[/ame]
Kimani Marley, Soldiers, [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pg5-1YjZ1H8]Ky-mani Marley - Warriors - YouTube[/ame]
Classic
Half Pint, Too rude, [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OtXd0qDJ8aY]Half Pint - Winsome/Too Rude - YouTube[/ame]
Steel Pulse, Throne of Gold,
Black Uhuru, Sensimilla, [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8vCumnMX1HU]Black Uhuru - Sinsemilla - YouTube[/ame]
Hundreds of more. Let me know if you like any of the songs and I can lean you in that direction. I could spend a month going over bands. Enjoy!

Always like zoning out to Pass the Marijuana by mystic roots, intro from southpark makes me laugh
but it's a good song to vibe to, on my phone so can't post a link, strongly recommend you search it though.

Also Deal's Gone Bad. They're reggae soul. I played a show with them in DeKalb and they were sick. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L7TgjXuImVU]Deals Gone Bad - Far From Home - YouTube[/ame]

I haven't read any of the other responses in here, so these may have already been mentioned, but you must have a solid collection of Toots & The Maytals, Jimmy Cliff, Gregory Isaacs, Bunny Wailer, Peter Tosh, Bob Marley, Cymande and Mandrill (not reggae, but if you like reggae I think you'd like those bands), Eek-A-Mouse (WA-DO-DEM!), Osibisa (world music, but somewhat similar to the vibe of reggae)

One excellent reggae artist I think every fan should check out is Alpha Blondy. His music is reggae with an African touch to it, mostly in the backing vocals and variety of exotic and interesting percussion instruments he uses. In my opinion, he took over the mantle of best reggae musician after Bob Marley died, and I even like his music better, though it's frowned upon to say so. They also espoused similar sentiments; love one another, peace between differing religions, raging against social injustice, all that kind of thing.
