i had my ear pierced last year and something happened i guess and i got a huge cyst it was under the piercing about two months after i got it done...i popped it squeezed all of the pus and blood out and what not so i have been waiting for a year now and there is still a small bump ive used a razor and cut into the bump to see if its like pus or some shit but nothing comes out the bump is always the same size it doesnt hurt or anything...would it be safe to get my ear pierced so i can start gauging or no?

Oh lord....

It's called stretching not gauging

It's not safe to take a razor to your ear, that's fucking dumb.

Google the association for professional piercers, use their webpage to locate a reputable shop in your area that the endorse and go there. Talk to the piercer there and they will set you straight on what to do.

Remember its called stretching, "gauge" refers to the size, it is a unit of measurement derived from the same unit of measurement used for electrical wire.

what you're feeling is actually the scar tissue from the cyst. ear piercings are notorious for doing this, as i have 6 in my ears from when i removed the jewelry from the piercing. it is totally safe to pierce again, one thing a good piercer will take into consideration before piercing your ear again is the location of that scar tissue and attempt to pierce around it. depending on the size of your lobe this might be possible. another thing you could do is go ahead and do a dermal punch and take the knot completely out of your ear..

although i have not pierced in a shop (or out of my house for that matter) i have completed an apprenticeship under 2 different artists and any piercer worth their salt should give you the same answer. hope it helps.

Be aware that in some states the use of a dermal punch is illegal to use without a medical license, because the artist would actually be removing material from your body, it brings about issues of health and safety as well as the disposal of the removed material. Not to mention if your intentions are to stretch the piercing then you want as much lobe material there as possible, removing some would be counter productive to the end result for a quick gain. Your piercer should be able to take the scar tissue and your anatomy into account and perform the piercing properly

Google the Association for Professional Piercers and use their webpage to locate a reputable shop in your area, I can't stress this enough so I will repeat myself, they will be the most knowledgeable and make you feel comfortable about the whole process. Don't be afraid to ask questions and have them thoroughly go over aftercare with you and you should be all good. Remember to be patient and follow the guidelines your piercer lays out for you, its not a race so go slow and don't hurt yourself

Keliods are rare unless your African American. It is most likely just scar tissue

Scar tissue below a piercing? That's cool.

I'm pretty white, and I've had two keloids.

Not saying its impossible, just that it is more common with blacks. I'm not looking at his ear so I'm not sayin it is or it isn't.

A keloid can be fixed or reduced in visible appearance, by using vitamin E oil...
