Hey CAPT., Yes, I put 1/4 tsp ProTekt in every gal of water that goes on my girls, from seedling to harvest. Should you use it? Do a little research on the benefits and decide for yourself. Stronger stems, greater bug resistance, greater resistance to drought and high temps, facilitates passage of nutrients through cell walls...there's a long list of benefits worth having. Speaking of which, you may recall last summer when my power went out for an entire day. Temps in my bud room were 103F with zero air circulation for more than 6 hours. The girlz shut down for that period (didn't drink a drop), but bounced back strong the next day, and apart from some leaf spotting, carried on as if nothing had happened. I credit the ProTekt for that. I can't say whether azomite is a better source of silica or not. I've added azomite to my soil mixes from the start, but didn't get the rock hard stems until I started adding the ProTekt. From that experience, I believe the plant can make use of more silica than it would naturally draw from the minerals in the soil. So it's not a question of better, just more availability.
