Ever since I first got high, I've loved smoking weed. I vowed to myself that as soon as I was able, I would start smoking on my own, which I did.

So a few months ago, I was a pretty regular smoker. I got high daily for one or two months. Then, something happened to me. I was sober, and I'm not sure if this was asthma related or not, but it became difficult to breathe - to get a satisfying breath. I was still able to inhale, but the air felt as if it didn't satisfy my lungs. My face and fingers were tingling, and I was extremely nervous that I was going to pass out or die.

I slept it off, and woke up fine the next morning. However, since that day, my breathing hasn't felt "100%." Normally, I don't have issues that bad, but any time I smoke, even just taking one tiny little hit, I get it again. I start panicking and do what I suspect is hyperventilation. I can't relax. It always happens. The days following these "attacks" from smoking, my chest is usually tight, but I suspect that to be the fault of my asthma.

To summarize, I smoked regularly for awhile, had some sort of attack, not sure if it was an anxiety or asthma attack, which made it difficult for me to get satisfying breaths of air, which led to my face tingling. Ever since then, any time I smoke, I get the same issue. Sometimes, it happens when I'm sober and focusing on the issue, making me think it's some sort of health based anxiety, but at this point, I just don't know.

Hopefully, there's someone out there who has had the same problem as me who also has a solution.

    :(

This happens to me. I get frequent panic attacks and it scares the shit out of me. My heart skips beats and beats harder. And I get sweaty and nervous/anxious.

As for not being able to breathe right I know the exact feeling. I'd have to continue to yawn to try to get some air.

I have asthma as well. I always find standing in front of a fan or AC and just close your eyes and take slow breaths. OPEN your eyes and look at the room around you and realize everything is going to be okay. Also, keep hydrated and try to eat something.

What sets me off is panicking about being in a panic. I just feeds off of what seems like, something you can not stop, but you can.

    I am currently presribed Klonopin.
Take one .5 miligram and it helps me calm down a lot.

Hope this helps, because I know how you feel. Feel free to ask anything or go off on a rant I'll still read it :p

  3. Are you able to smoke while taking Klonopin?

Oh yeah for sure. It's actually a great combo. When I take a klonopin wait 30 minutes (for it to begin to work) and smoke. The getty feeling I got from toking up before goes away and I enjoy a calm happy high

    Are you being serious?

    Please leave this thread.

  6. Panic attack. It happens.

  7. Been seeing a lot more anxiety threads lately, kinda sketchin me out but whatever. It happens to tons of people all the time. There are different methods that help different people. One is a muscle tightening exercise where you flex all your muscles at the same time and hold it for a few seconds then let go. Another is sticking your thumb in your mouth and blowing in-between soft and hard for 5-10 seconds (actually proven to slow your heart rate). Some people (myself included) are forced to be on some kind of medication.

  8. Remember to stay REALLY hydrated. I used to get frequent panic attacks, but ever since I started drinking a lot of water and a Mountain Dew before smoking, I've been able to calm myself down. In my opinion it's all a matter of being in the right frame of mind, so make sure you're comfortable and happy before you smoke, not tense and uptight. Good luck :smoke:

    Very good advice.

  10. All my issues like this are more like I just think of shit that really pisses me off in my mind like to the point where I'm digging at things like wondering others opinions at a certain point in my life when I did some specific thing or why I gained weight as a kid and eventually lost it but I think about all the things I missed sports, social gatherings, obviously relationships with people its just fucking ridiculous when you think this way. but never to the point of panic attacks (well once actually) but who hasn't.

you're all good homie its all on you to change your thinking.

  11. Sounds like a panic attack to me.

You might be freaking yourself out! I'm not saying that your asthma isn't playing a factor, but I think your mind is what is giving you tingly fingers and face. I have both panic attacks and asthma.. If it's something you're truly concerned about go have an honest conversation with your doctor.

Keep your inhaler handy, and use it when you feel you need too.
    Oranges help with asthma!
    And try to relax :)
