okay guys here it is... i have a small micro grow safe going on right now and have started buying things to build my tent with the wife.we already bought our sun system 2 its a 250 watt switchable hps/mh with a digital ballast built in. I plan on getting the grow lab 80(gl80) its 80cm x 80cm x 180cm i am going to try and make the light hood vented! i plan on having one fan its going to vent the light out of the tent. i have no where to vent it to other than inside the room ): so i have to work with that. i am getting a 4in cfm fan and a 4"in x 8"in phresh filter to scrub the air. ANY IDEAS guys? i think i pretty much got it worked out just want some feed back

Sounds about right! any issues see the grow shop guy you bought this stuff from, but you will need to vent that , preferably outside.

You're gonna have to exchange your warm air with cool air, somehow. A 250w bulb puts out a fair amount of heat (250 watts of heat, to be precise!) and will heat the space around it. You will have to replace this warm air with cool air, or you will have a temperature issue on your hands.

Do you have a window in the room? you could buy a cheap window AC to cool your room so the intake temp of your tent will be lower

Well i have no way to vent the room. It's a closet under my stairwell perfect for a tent. I'm not sure how I will keep it cool....

WTF is 250W of heat?? and replacing warm air with cool air is the expressed purpose of venting. shhh.

Just get a big ol inline fan... venting to the room is fine esp if you can cool the room a bit with A/C. dont forget your carbon filter/scrubber will limit the CFM so you want your fan to compensate. My advice is to overkill the airflow... get like a 200CFM 4 in inline system and set up the hood right and you should be able to handle even 400W in that space.

I have made small DIY carbon scrubbers and they were not very effective, even in veg. Then I decided to build my own ONA bucket out of a 2L sprite bottle. ( about 1 cup of ONA concentrated liquid, 2-3 Tbs of aqua crystals and filled bottle to half with water) I then put a 80mm PC fan on the top, pulling air out and cut slots in the bottom.

this little machine works wonders for me!!! within 5 mins my bedroom smelled nothing but fresh linen. after maybee 30min my whole apartment's kush stench was gone!!

But the major advantage of this is I can remove my carbon scrubbers which means my airflow increased ALOT.

Edit: I wanted to mention that I am not saying carbon scrubbers are rubbish, but the ones I made were! lol because I only use PC fans for ventilation I could not make more than 1 "ply" filter or my CFM would suffer too much.
