Intel i5-3570K, EVGA GeForce GTX 670, Corsair Vengeance C70 (Black) - System Build - PCPartPicker

Using an old monitor
If I have windows 7 on another hard drive(OEM), can I put it on the new mobo without any problems? I don't even know if I got a windows disk or key with my PC when I bought it(pre built dell).

thanks

Well you dont put a OS on a mobo, but you may be able to reinstall on your new HDD. Just reuse the key that should be on the dell, or try to use a recovery disk if you got one.

Or if you are in college check out if you can get windows for free, my college had a deal where its free....

1. I own that same keyboard. Have had it since about January. The keys are really nice, and the lighting works flawlessly. Love the ability to quickly change brightness. But the keys are wearing down already. There is a big piece of the space bar missing and the most common keys have obvious circles which makes it look kinda ugly...

Basically: the surface of keys wear kind of quickly in my opinion for the price of the keyboard, but its an awesome keyboard that i love.

2. That case is nice to look at, but i think its pretty janky. They need to remake it with better shit. Id say go with a cooler master case with this awesome build. They make much better cases.

And, I dont see why you get a 400$ video card, then just get 8GB of ram, but its your build. I would personally do 16GB...

Looks like a awesome machine overall though. Gonna be a beast. Should run anything that you throw at it, at max settings lol

All the parts look real nice, close to what im planning, but if your gaming i would get a different keyboard, imo. Much better keyboards out there for around the same price. 80 bucks and its not even mechanical? pass.

Yah keyboard and mouse ive both previously owned.

Im getting a gtx 670 because I want to game, 8gigs ram is enough because I wont be doing too much multitasking(also using some old 2gig sticks, and ram is cheap to buy when I need it)

As for the case ive looked at some reviews and it seems like the best case for what I want at the right price. Ive really considered a haf 922/932 before.

As for the os being put on a mobo, I know that but im sure you just cant put a hdd with windows onto another new mobo, and thats why I asked. Also im trying to wait for that 40dollar windows 8 thing.

At above, I dont see a problem with the keyboard, I absolutely love it, but could you link another one?

im not saying there is anything WRONG with it but there are much better and way more comfortable keyboards available for a good price. Like i said, are youg going to be playing games or typing/using the keyboard a lot?

if so i would highly suggest looking into mechanical keyboards, here are a few to get you started.

SteelSeries North America - SteelSeries 6Gv2

Very good price, very very high quality, no lights or any extra frills like that, just a standard mechanical keyboard.

Razer BlackWidow - Mechanical Gaming Keyboard | Razer Online Store

Razer blackwidow if your more into that flashy lights and such + mechanical key switches

Realforce 103UB 55g (Black) - elitekeyboards.com - Products

Or if you are interested in dropping a few extra dollars for essentially the best keyboard you can buy look for a realforce

seriously though if you are gonna be at your computer for a long time its best to have the most comfortable / enjoyable set-up possible, and non-mechanical keyboards just dont give you that option imo.

I see what you mean now and thanks a lot. Do you know if the first keyboard is "loud" as in, you wont hear "tacktacktacktacktacktack"(you know that sound some keyboards make). Of course im going to look it up but I want your input too.

Ok well... Mechanical keyboards are special due to their switches, there are a variety of switches used for mechanical keybaords (though not in combination, 1 keyboard will use all 1 type of switches for the keys)

To my knowledge, Blue switches are the most CLACKITY CLAKY, if you enjoy that sound, then look for some blue switch keyboards

Dont quote me here but i believe the SteelSeries keyboard i linked you to uses Black switches, meaning it will operate in this fashion..
http://www.overclock.net/picture.php?albumid=3859&pictureid=22301
No clicky sound, no tactile feedback

Here is a guide to how the different colors of switches operate and feel,
Mechanical Keyboard Guide

And here is the rest of the guide (of mechanical keyboards)
Mechanical Keyboard Guide

You can buy any mechanical keybaord, and you can replace all of the switches to a switch color of you liking too, so if it turns out you buy a mech. keyboard with blue switches and dont like the tactile feedback + clacky sound, then you could switch to a clear or red switches to get rid of the sound and keep tactile feedback or not.

hope this kind of makes sense.

Yeah but its pretty expensive :/ and I also hear a lot of bad things about razers quality. But it does look really nice.

The thing I like about the logitech is that it feels sooooooo good to type on and its silent

I've had and used my razer Lycosa keyboard for quite some time now. Quality keyboard in my opinion. Only thing is the "D" key has been showing wear for a while now. Actually starting to get pretty bad now, the plastic they use for the black on the keys is coming off. Not peeling, mind you, just wearing from the friction or some shit. Now that I really inspect my keys, the "A" and "W" keys are also starting to show wear. Still a good keyboard though.

Yup i feel you, i have had this keyboard since before i built my gaming rig and i didnt upgrade to a gaming keyboard because i feel this thing is already mad nice and i really like the keys feel.

Also my wrist rest had a big spot worn out on it.

I think that basically any keyboard is going to wear out after about a year of heavy use. Especially when you are a fast typist and constantly hit the same spots on each key.

Thats why you get keyboards that come with customizable keycaps, some are laser etched and painted into the crack of the etching and not just painted on, costs a bit more tho but it wont wear off
