Convincing my Parents to let me smoke weed
#1

I've tried to educate them, on how harmless marijuana really is but they stubbornly reject anything I have to say. I'm not going to stop smoking weed, and I've said that. But I would rather they accept that, so I can tell them what I'm really up to instead of going behind there backs and doing it and having to worry about getting caught.
There main points are:
-Its Illegal
-It'll effect my schooling and education
-It'll influence my little brother and sister
- and it'll lead to harder drugs.
- And the people I hang around to smoke with, and buy the marijuana.
Any Tips to let them accept I smoke weed? And Suggestions would be appreciated!

Not only that, the social stigma that comes from the drug being illegal can get you in trouble. If you 'associate' with the drug culture(friends who wear Marley shirts or drug referenced shirts, listen to 'stoner music') you make yourself more susceptible to being caught.
Once you turn 18, and move out of your parents house you can weigh these options out and make your choice.. But until then as my dad told me. "Matt, you can do whatever the hell you want... When you move out. Until then, you will abide by my rules."
Sucks, but it's pretty simple. Note, if you listen to them and follow their wishes.. Maybe next time you talk to them about smoking responsibly they'll be more prone to listening to their mature responsible son.

I've never met anyone who has successfully convinced their parents to let them smoke weed. Good luck OP. All I can say is keep your grades up, always have a good attitude with them, and keep the weed smoking on the down low when at home.

As for your question its going to be hard, prepare for a lot of hate coming your way, you just have to be ready with solid facts to back up your argument and try not to get angry just educate!

weed is not a great cure for depression. its good for recreational enjoyment if youre already stable, and good for relieving physical pain.
if youre depressed im sure your parents will be willing to take you to a psychiatrist and get you the appropriate treatment for your condition

technically OP never said how old they are and you can still be in high school at age 18.

I convinced by family... all you need is a lot of knowledge on the subject and then be ready to prove them wrong.

If you're living in their house and they're paying the bills, you should abide by their rules. If you don't like it, then move out.
You Americans always say that when a thread like this pops up... what's so terrible about trying to change a persons opinion on a subject that matters to you? Are all your parents really so stubborn?

hang on thats a bit harsh aint it? its this kinda thing that mess's with kids heads when they are smoking your making out as if its some major massive thing, its not the plant that mess's with your head its everything surrounding it and stupid comments like this and having to feel ashamed for smoking, not being able be stoned around judgmental non smokers and people saying crap like 'you abide by my rules in my house' blah.
As I said just try and educate yourself with the real facts on cannabis then use it to back up your argument if needs be, but dont get angry just explain the facts.
Cannabis will not cure neither cause depression but if used correctly it will make life a lot better for some one who suffers with depression and if used wrong it will make life a lot worse.
Understand your own mind first then take some time out to fully understand cannabis then your good to go, but even us seasoned smokers are still learning as we go even though a lot will not admit they are, I am 28 and been smoking since I was 14 and I did not fully understand cannabis and its true benefits until I was 26, so go figure.
Life is hard but it does not have to be miserable if you have a little weed to help you out!

I personally started smoking bud right after high school. I believe high school is very important. It comes first, then bud after.
Yup. Go to school during the day, smoke after.

He never said not to try to at least educate them. It's still understandable if they just don't want any illegal items in the house, regardless of the facts.

who cares what they think, its your life. weed is the least of anyones worrys, why dont you tell them to stop driving to work, they could get killed.
Thanks for making Americans look ignorant. If he lives in a household where his parents disagree, he should abide by their rules until he is ready to move out on his own.
