i went to check my spot today and i noticed tire marks on the road and on the grass where i usualy stop. there is also a forced trail up to my plants. i havent been there in about 3 weeks so i dont think theyre mine. transplanting them in a new spot would be quite the mission...the plants are already flowering though their not quite that big. should i transplant them or take a chance and harvest early?
set up some cleer strings like fishing line about the height of a human (5.5 feet'ish) and have it attached to something that will make a branch its tied to or something snap...thsi way u might know its something tall....but it could be a moose or horse....set up traps, like a trip wire that will not be noticable when they hit it and have it somehow drop a huge as rock from a tree about 20 yards away where they cant see to ward them off making them think someone is there...i dunno...i dug a 5 foot 10 inch deep whole one time that was about 4 feet wide on a trail because i thought someone was steeling from my stuff, and then covered it up with foliage and had a wire leading out to a cheap disposable camera taped to a tree and the string would pull on a little thing i attached to it hitting the trigger....well turns out it was a deer and it took the picture of it face planting into the other side of the hole (the surface not in the hole) and its front legs in the hole and back legs on the side it was coming from....it was only halfway falling and fell in all the way hahhahha...i felt bad but it made it out...i saw like 30 huge imprints in the pit from it strugling and shit....i felt really bad but i found out it wasnt humans, just the deer knicking at it and chewing it up, i started pissing around the area whenever i really hadto go and it warded off allot of animals..... peace
If you really think it is theives, set up an indicator like in the above post. Like tie fishing line to a very small weak branch somewhere in the forced path, and tie it across the path to somthing else. So when someone wlks by, it will snap the branch off. If the branch is ever gone, you know someones been through. =] - Vince

Yea boobytraps are a bad idea. You arent Rambo for christs sake. If it was an animal it would probly have a trail continuing past ur plants or parts of your plants would be eaten. Dont know how you could determine what came by, but dont put up any booby traps that can injure someone. You dont wanna get charged with aggravated battery or worse, on top of cultivation. Let them take the plants if they want, its not worth it.
i say wear a black plastic garbage bag over yourself next time your walking thru there, so if its a cop thats tracking thru there he won't suspect you of anything , he'll probabaly escort you out ala j. rambo style (if he gives you shit than rambo) j/k
If it were a cop, he would have uprooted the plants by now. They dont play around with that. They sure as hell wouldent leave them unguarded. So i doubt it was law enforcement. Even a ripper isint going to force their way through the woods randomly looking for plants. So i'd have to say its an animal. But set up a little fishing line that wont hurt anyone, and you'll know if someones been through =] - Vince P.S. I agree, if you boobytrap your plants, it would be difficult for them to charge you for it (because htey have to prove you put them there and not some random asshole), but they will certainly try. They will also wait around for you if an officer gets hurt, rather than just disposing of the few plants you have and leaving.
this morning me and my buddy went to check my plants and both of them were dug up and ready to be taken somewhere so we waited for the guy to come back and a good stern talking to changed his mind pretty damn quick about taking those plants or ever going near there again.
My advice comes from a poster who worked for the national forest service. He said for small plots all they do is uproot and dispose of the plants. The times they stick around and wait for the grower is either for large, news-worthy plots or when the grower put up booby traps. Why? Because the people who get injured by these traps go straight to the police, report it, and press charges. God forbid you injure a law enforcement official. Are u trying to hurt people or grow some plants? If its the former, then i gotta tell ya there are easier ways of hurting people. I hope im not comin across as someone whose afraid of the 'bad karma' u get from hurtin peeple.Thats not it. If your trap hurts somebody or is found to be able to hurt somebody the severity of the charges goes up. Havent u guys ever heard of fingerprints? Show up at ur deathtrap grow after somebodies gotten hurt and see what happens. If youre gonna put up something just make sure all it does is detect human presence, not harm people. But hey, its your life.

yeah dotn do actuall booby traps i was just joking around but still you could make something that wouldnt harm someone. And as for fingerprints.....i've done alot of research on it for reasonss i cant say, and most fingerprinting will NOT be done if its been 24 hours after a crime because thats when they start to somewhat disapear. and ur usually gone 24 hours from your plants. And another thing, since its outside, your fingerprints will disapear FASTER because the oils which basicly form the fingerprint are effected from nature, like sun, rain, wind...everything wich is more to help the fingerprints be gone completely by 24-48 hours, andddd the only things (unless you left bottles, shovels....stuff like that) you could leave your prints on would be plants....and plants would get rid of ur finger prints in just hours depending what kind, the leaves and all that would let out and be sucking in air or w/e and sun would be hitting them......not much to worry about fingerprints. and fingerprinting is usually only done if theres a murder, or over $1400 dollars of dammage done, because thats how much it cost to have it done....so they'd prolly have to get injured badddly with a big over 1400$ fine, but the only thing u'd wanna wory about finger prints was the booby trap u set....if its just rope....fishing line...w/e u would have to worry cuz the line isnt even as fat as ur fingers its like a mm thick... but either way dont go seeting bear traps or 10 foot pits with spikes at the bottom.......just use common sence to not hurt or injur anyone...although it'd be hilllarious if i saw some fat guy hanging upside down that had tried to steel my herb...
whoa chill everyone im not setting up death traps at my spot lol. ill try the tripwire method i guess. but i think the tire marks kind of give it away already. i dont think its an animal. ill post my progress when i get to it.
Never set up any kind of trap that will harm anyone. Set up a device that will just fling poo or something. Then get LEO with that!!
we did get the guy and after a few mins with him he wasnt planning on going back to our plants any time soon.
