How do you guys feel about this? I'm on vacation and my parents have friends. The husband works and the wife doesn't. So he works hard and she... suntans? And talks far too much and seems to have little substance. The husband isn't a high roller or anything either, but the dynamics of their relationship just seems strange to me. I'm a broke college student and prefer not to have a girlfriend because I'm a self absorbed bastard that is currently only interested in furthering himself, and because I don't want to spend time or money on a female unless it's sexually related. But how can you spend 40 years of your life only to have your hard earned money bastardized by taxes, and then SPLIT IN HALF with a female who does NOTHING? I hope to never have a woman who doesn't work unless I become incredibly ridiculously wealthy. Also I think it'd be weird to semi control a female because you are the only one creating the income... just seems weird to me. Also, as a woman, how do you view it? Is it desirable to live a life without work? It would seem like you wouldn't have a decision in many matters if you did this.
ha interesting way of thinking but not many women sit at home braiding there fucking vaginas an drinking martinis..they become your wives,your other half an sometimes staying home makes it easier to have a cleaner home and a homeyerhome..an fuck when the kids come a long being a mom isn't a fucking walk in the park..your cooking and cleaning ALL day an taking care of the kids making sure theyre safe,theyre fed,theyre cared for so yeaa while not every mans dream is to have a women waiting at home for him with his sparkley clean house an dinner nice an hot ready on the table doesn't mean that every man thinks thats a fucking idiot idea..I personally would love to stay at home once I have kids so that I can raise them an not some fucking day care,so that I can be there to tell my husband about the moments he may have missed an not a babysitter.A marriage is becoming one an when u do that u need to make these decisions ahead of time as a couple so that you'll both know where your at in the future. But I think what that man is doing is awesome he must really love his wife a lot to let her stay home. It just means he likes being the provider..as long as shes doing her job as a wife an not a gold digger then wtf is so wrong with that?

Totally feel you on this one. My old lady had six months of unemployment until last Monday. During those times I watched her almost go crazy. And just being honest I felt myself feeling like I was in a position of power over her. Not something I strive for just something that happened. Personally I did not want a woman that did not work and she did not want to be a sponge off me. In this day and age making a house hold run smoothly off a single pay check is pretty hard to do. Being with a person that does not have the ability to stand on their own feet with out the help of a man is simply pathetic. My parents are in one of these "Old school" relationships and I love my mother but I have no respect for her. She has no idea of the real value of a dollar and has and will continue to watch my step father work until the day he drops dead. Personally I am glad that women have moved past the "find a good man to take care of you" stage in history.
If shes not working then she must provide the 3 C's everyday. Cooking Cleaning Cootchi If she has no job and she is not doing those three things on a daily basis I will shove my foot up her ass. Then lose half of my money in the divorce that she was not entitled to.
A good housewife would keep herself, her husband, and the house looking nice. That's a job right there. Especially if they have kids! She would shop, cook, clean, and satisfy her man to the best of her abilities. She doesn't have to be dumb. She can keep hobbies, socialize, and read. I guess it's not for everyone, though. I have great respect for housewives.

Yep, and even more respect for women that have it a little harder too. Like the ones, who have careers AND do all of those other motherly things for her kids and husband etc. shout out to my mom. lol love you!
Also being a housewife doesn't mean you can't make a little money. I'd probably have a graphic design business out of the house or pierce people in my kitchen on the weekends Open your minds guys. Old fashioned with a twist!
