Any thoughts on its use for growing dank? FFOF is fucking expensive, and idk any other good organic soil blends I can buy at home depot, cuz the grow supply store is across town. And Im not looking to be bashed by the so called "professional organic" growers either for asking about a MG produt.

Have you considered blending a soil with raw products from Home Depot or Lowe's?

Depending on what part of the country you live in, Lowe's carries these products.

This is the bag I'd look for:

You're very welcome, but, as Chunk suggested, could we perhaps help to convince you to do just a small bit of extra work, and guide you though a very simple and inexpensive homemade organic soil mix that will get you started on the road to REAL organic goodness?

I promise that you will have a broad smile on your face when you see the results. :)

I also promise you that this will be simple, inexpensive and that anyone can do it. You have the potential to grow the dankest flowers you have ever seen -

Deal?

Absolutely you can convince me, Im just broke at the moment, with all my $$ tied up in this chemical hydro grow. Once this grow is over, Im gonna do all organic, maybe with hydro still. Im really interested in bat guano tea. My boy up in Oregon is doing amazing things with worm castings and guano.

"maybe with hydro still"

I don't think you understand. Organics works all by itself - once your soil mix is constructed no additional nutrition from bottled fertizers is required.

The very last thing anybody would want to do would be to add chemical Hydro "nutes" to an organic soil.

How does growing hydroponically with guano tea make it not organic? My friend is growing hydroponically with guano and worm casting tea, and his bud is WONDERFUL! Im using the chemical nutes right now, cuz I didnt know any better when I started. This is my first hydro grow, and I went with the guy at the stores recommendations for nutes. For the two soil plants Ive got going now, Ive got them in FFOF, and Ive been using their nute trio, but I got some guano today and Im gonna sprinkle it on the top of the soil and let it work its magic. My original chemical to organic question was regarding my hydro plants.

Sorry Skunky - I thought you were adding chemical nutrients to an organic soil. My bad. I have no experience with the method you're referring to so I cannot comment either way.

Whatever works best for you is a good thing.

Good luck man.

Its good dude. Im growing a dro plant in chemical nutes, and two in FFOF. The 2 in the FFOF are getting the nute trio from the same company right now. The purpose of my original question was to find out if I can use organic bloom nutes for my dro plant even though Ive been using chemical nutes for vegging. For my soil plants, Im done giving them nutes, and Im just gonna go straight bat guano from here til harvest. And worm castings too. Everyones bombarded me with all sorts of good info, esp the bag soil thread you turned me on to. Once my dro grow is done, Im gonna do all organic from then on. Its just a cleaner smoke and less coughy.

So I just got back from Lowes, and they have organic potting soil, bags of organic cow manure, and bags of perlite. What else would I need to make my own soil? I was thinking worm castings and bat guano. Would it be better if I got bags of organic soil with no nutes in it, and I add all the ammendments? They also had some stuff called Black Velvet which looked very plant friendly. Someone had mentioned it on another thread I think. Would I still need the bat guano if I have the cow shit? This was alot less confusing when I was happy with FFOF.

I'm using my new-fangled phone so I can't find it right now, but there was a thread in the organic section called "Soil mixes-no nutes- post 'em" or something like that (try searching it). There were a few recipes in it that used MG organic choice. I ran one of 'em right after the post was made and was succesful, but if I could go back in time I would have started with a bail of peat moss, compost, and lava rock.

Simple mix around here is something like this..

50% sphagnum peat moss
25% aeration ammendment like perlite/pumice/lava rock.
25% worm castings

Check back w lowes or home depot and see if they carry epsoma brand. Look for the tomato tone or plant tone. Take 1.5-2 cups of that per cu. ft. Of soil you mix up.

Lowes didnt have the espoma. They really didnt have shit for fertilizers either. Every kind of miracle gro nute you can imagine, and that was about it. Im gonna try that mixture for my next grow. I got some bat guano today to top feed my soil plants with. Im gonna look for that espoma at my supply store on thursday.
