What, in your opinion, is the best car on the market under the 40k mark? I'm looking at getting my first brand new car. I'm looking for something sporty but that can handle the snow. AWD is a nice touch but not a nessicity. I've wanted a WRX STI since I was a very small child and that is definitely what i'm going to test drive first but I would like a few more options to make sure I get the best car for my money.

BMW 135i.

The only thing that comes close between 135 and the STi is price. The BMW pushes 206bhp and 0-60 in 6.4 while the subby does 306 and 0-60 in 4.9. You pay too much for the bmw badge and not enough for the car. Plus I think bmw's look too generic. Thanks though.

And as far as the RX-7 goes as much as I would love to have a rotary they are damn near impossible to get work done to around here. Plus I'm sick of driving around lemons and beaters. I'm looking for a nice car made later then 2010, unless its a hell of a car for the right price.

If I had that kind of budget I would go out and buy a really nice brand new Charger. Although I would want to push for the srt model which is just over 40,000. But how could you not?

evo is a billion time better car than a sti, and i mean theres alot of cars you can get for that its going to depend alot of willingness of maintance of car, gas milage you want, and your insurance. but hey in the end its your pick!

Yeah, ill be taking one for a rip for sure. I currently drive a lancer and hate it though. I think i might just go to all the major dealerships and test out there entry level sports cars.

Very easily. :P

Not a fan of muscle. Modern or old. Although Im sure its a great car, and performs well outside its predecessors limitations i could not see myself in one. A car that goes fast in a straight line but is fucked when you hit a corner is about as useful as a cock favoured lolipop.

Dude WTF are you talking about? The 135i is twin-turbocharged. It has 302HP, 0-60 in 4.6 seconds...

And generic? Okay....

Sounds like you've already made your decision, but if I bought a new vehicle for $40k, I'd just upgrade my 2008 Chevy Silverado to a 2012. Though maybe a GMC Sierra as a change of pace. :D

sti or evo x id say. the 135 is pretty sweet but it really does lose out to the sti when it comes to practicality,

It's an SRT8 homie. It designed for performance, straight line/cornering. Dodge is using suspension from Mercedes Benz in Chargers. Brembo Brakes and ESP system will also help in the cornering. Besides, are you buying a DD or a cross racing car?

It's definitely not nessary I live in North Dakota and you can drive rwd, fwd, or whatever you want. Seems like people on the east coast all think you need awd for their drizzle that they consider a blizard
