No offense, but I would never use bag seed outdoors after the experience I had, The genetics of those seeds are absolute crap, most likely they won't survive outdoors unless you have it in a 5 gal pot for a month.

Why a 5 gallon bucket? I have buckets im planting them in, not the ground. But i was gonna use like a 1 gallon, then 3 gallon, then 5 gallon. Is there a difference to just skip to 5?

In my experience I would recommend going straight to the 5 gal if your starting outdoors so the roots have more space from the start, Plus it doesn't put any stress on the plant because you aren't constantly changing pot sizes. Starting them in plastic cups indoors first would be ideal, then going to the 5 gal so the seedlings are stronger.

Are you using any nutrients? Pest control can also be a problem outdoors as well as insects.

I have several pest and bug removal things. I have some nutrient mix to put with the water every two er three days just to fight disease tho, other than that no

Half inch deep. How long did it take for your seeds to germ?

Roots look thick and healthy you can plant them or even wait till the shell pops off and the 2 round leaves appear.... dont fertilize your seedlings ... a good sign of when you need to nute them is when the food leaves turn yellow ( round leaves). Mine have been yellow for awhile still havent nutted them.. you can check out my thread still have to post new pics though
