Good to see you posting Middy. How are things in the Czech Republic? You still have all your limbs? Thanks again for pointing me to the Kalishnikova
Yep, still got all my limbs but a few more scars :-( . been a great winter here so far , it's only been down to minus 13c and only 20cm of snow that went after a day or two of plus 10c . I'll catch up on all the gossip on here during the week. Miđdy
question- do I add supplements and additives to my ppm? i'm using nitrozyme, superdrive, liquid silicon and greenfuse grow somebody let me know please and don't be cocky somebody help, respect
ppm (parts per million) is a measurement. How do you add nutes to a measurement? Are you asking if you should add your nutes before you take your ppm reading then yes.
I ment after adding base nutes and after taking the ppm measurement of it do I count my supplements and additives toward my ppm target
Popping my head in.. Hope you guys are rocking it!!!! My kung fu https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OfuRr-Tn0HU
So nice. A bunch of Kalishnikova and about 2 oz of SourDiesel/WhiteWidow. 27 oz from a 1000 wt light. Dialed in baby
Thanks Hort, I have got that Kal dialed in. Now working on getting the Green Crack up to those yields! Hort, you said it has been a while since you had a garden going. It is time to get another one started brother
Dialed in for sure! Gonna be a while still until I get my garden going. But should be hooking up one of my home boys with a single lamp grow. So I'll be doing something soon at least. Still researching on a tent, then once it's on.
Hey Boys 'n Gurls, hope everyone's happy & high & finishing off Winter. Haven't been around much this winter, and when I was too busy getting new strains worked up. Hope all's well with everyone & look to hear from ya soon. Great pic's GG, gonna come back over the weekend and catch up on the video's.

Just the guy I can speak too! I recalled seeing only the one picture you posted in here being of a seriously branchy trunk you harvested and it was in a tent. You have any mid price range tent suggestions for me?
Hey Hort, glad to tell you what I know & maybe it will help. The pic you saw was from the maiden voyage of my little "party tent". It's a 2' X 2' X 64" unit made by Secret Jardin, called the Dark Room II. I bought it on a whim one day when I was in the grow store because the girl clerk was really cute & kept bending over to show me all her stuff while she talked about the tent I'd always wanted something smaller than my 400 & 600 to start new strains without committing to a whole grow cycle, and to make backup seeds from my clones. So I bought it & set it up with a 250W cooltube that would fit (diagonally, with SERIOUS modifications), a couple of 4" centrifugal fans & a 4" Phresh carbon filter. Decided on an Ebb 'n Grow system from our old friend Jakester's educated rants, bought a few containers & started putting everything together. This is when I started discovering all tents are not created equal Now in fairness to Secret Jardin, the quality of the tent construction is very good. Heavy material, smooth but heavy zippers that block almost 100% of the light (you can see a few pin pricks through the zipper teeth at a couple of locations, but that don't make a shit that's fine. And the 2X2 size made it a challenge to get a CoolTube to fit. Some special-order pancake adapters thanx to @Dr Mengle and some serious metal work made that fit. If you work with a 3 or larger that won't apply for you. But I had to deal with that because it's what I wanted. But here's where I started discovering things that you just have to force them to work. For one, the vent openings on the tent are low - like toward the bottom 1/3 of the tent. Now WTF would I want to take up a considerable amount of real estate inside the tent by running flex duct from two lower sides of the tent up to the top? A 2X2 is already little, and having to route those ducts up through the tent was robbing space needed for my stinky assed weed Startin' to piss me off until I realized - HEY - turn this puppy upside down. OK, works. The store clerk said that too But now I got to mount my carbon filter & exhaust fan to hang fro the BOTTOM of the tent. You might think that'[s crazy at first, but remember, Ebb 'n Grow... you have to have the tent on top of the reservoir so your manifold can sit beside the tent to control flood levels. As it worked out, keeping the fan underneath was easy with some wood screws and a 90 elbow. It actually saved on the size of the footprint of the overall setup. So a 2X2 grow tent will fit in a 2 footprint with reservoir, carbon fan, manifold and all. Then came time to grow, I decided to try another auto freebie I got from Attitude, a NorthernLights - Big Bud auto.I'd tried one in the past with a 150W in the same tent and it sucked... think I got a couple oz. But I'm wandering now... So as the grow progresses and the plant starts to stretch and I need to start the LST (you saw the harvested results of the Fiskars infestation after it finished), I realized it was a PITA to get to all sides of the plant to tie in the LST. The TOP zipper (actually the bottom)went around three sides of the tent - AWESOME - but the f-ing bottom zipper (really the top), for whatever lame-assed reason, only goes across one side??? End game, I could only reach two adjacent sides of the plant. So I'm thinking of asking @DNorris over, our 50 shades of green bondage queen, to help with the LST. But then I remembered she got married, and I didn't want to get my ass beat by her new husband for asking her to come over & tie me up, so I struggled with it and got it done. So the morale of all this party tent adventure for your tent buying pleasures.... Get a tent with good side vent placement up high on the side walls. Frankly, I don't know why someone wouldnt put a couple of extra vents in the TOP of the tent. No plant real estate taken, but never seen one set up like that. DEon't bother with semi-rigid duct work. You will pull the seams apart trying to adjust it and end up throwing it away. Regular mylar dryer vent is fine. And you don't need 90 elbows to hold everything off the lights and through the duct holes. Just run it out. Check access to the interior - I would like to see good access from opposing sides of the tent, or more ideally three sides of the four. Think of how that will work with all your vent ducts in place too. Check the zippers for a good light tight seal. Get inside the tent and zip it up; you should be dark. Check the vent socks - they should be double - an inside sock with reflective material, an outside one with black light block, same as tent. Good drawstrings on both to block light, and to insure that any exhausted air goes through your carbon filter to not stink up the room. Check the frame quality and make sure any extra support members can be placed where you need them to hold heavy centrifugal fans and carbon filters. Height. My party tent is only 5'4" tall. That's OK for auto's and seed stock from clones, when I can bloom them at 6-8" tall. But I'd never try to grow most sativas in there. But bigger footprints of the same tent are 72' to 80' tall. End of the story, you are going to have to find a really good web site with lots of all-angle pictures, or really good factory pictures and descriptions, or you are going to have to go to the grow store and spend some time looking at their tents. Which probably means only one to choose from. Either way, I think you will eventually find something you don't like about all of them. The Secret Jardin is a good tent. I've put three grows through it and it works great. It would fit in a closet and with 4-7 oz per turn (60-70 days) with auto's, it will keep a fairly serious smoker supplied until hell freezes over. But not my wife... NOOOOO, that's never enough for HER spoiled little ass... I hear GrowLab has some quality stuff too, but haven't had the chance to walk through one. But the most important part of all this is to find a store clerk thats going to bend over and show you her stuff. Then whatever you end up with you won't give a shit about vent placements. Or if you got the time and space for a 3? Go waaaayy back to the beginning of GG's thread here. I posted some pic's of a hardscape grow chamber I built out of 2X2's, 1/4" concrete wonderboard and door hinges. It's freestanding, fireproof, and works great for what I need. OK, hope this helps, Bro. Lots of rambling but you should know by now, don't ask me shit unless you want the whole story Reminds me of the time I was at Lake Pontchartrain just outside New Orleans. I'd sold a pint of blood and was celebrating, eating crawfish out of a sack and drinking a Dixie beer. A shiny black limo pulls up, the window rolls down, and these two beautiful Gypsy women motion me over....
Hey, GG, no shit on dialed in - the K & Green Crack are both off the chain. Haven't been around so much over the winter, been spending my time trying to build up my mother plant strains so not as much time for the GC Forum. Tell me about the K - how's the yield compared to others, bud size, taste & smoke? Howe are your peeps reacting to it? I recall K is a rework of White Russian, and I had that years ago, bad ASS. I got a few K-Auto seeds a few months ago when I was restocking, just put one into the party tent today. She's a cute little thing right now, but hoping she turns big, fat & stinky. And the Green Crack while you're at it, is it as good as all the reports I've heard? Is the yield worth growing? OK, later Bro.
Old.....your hilarious! I appreciated your input! I'll have to check out that freestanding chamber, sounds awesome. For size I'm going to do a 4x4 with a 600 watt, think that should yield an elbow with 4 plants! Unfortunately there aren't any cute grow shop attendees around me to easy the pain of choosing a tent. I'll more then likely grab one online, but a local shop has the secret jardin 4x4 for a great price ($215) but I'm thinking it's the exact one you have with the messed up exhaust locations. It's the secret jardin 2, they've improved on that one and have the 2.5 I've noticed online. And they've got the dark room but that's almost double in price! I'll keep looking around, no real rush.
Man, I tell you, I've had fun with the little party tent, it's changed my mind on auto's. And when I get around to actually using it for some seed making and breeding projects I'm sure I'll like it even more. But all in all, I like my hardscape chamber a lot more. No height restrictions, practically light tight, and best of all I think I put about $60 - 70 in it about 12 years ago. It won't wear out, is sturdy as a concrete wall which makes mounting anything anywhere a breeze. BUT - the sumbitch is heavy - 3' X 3' X 90" tall of 1/4" wonderboard and you grunt to move it. If you look back far enough in GG's thread here you'll find the pic's. It was all the way back "near the beginning". If you're thinking 600W (which is my all time favorite of all lights) I wouldn't recommend more than 3X4 or 3.5' X 4' at most. If you get all the way out to 4X4 your light coverage is going to be weaker and your bud density will fall off a bit. Personally, I thing 3X4 with a light mover is ideal for a 600; that gives you 50W / sq.ft. and it's still an easy site to work. If you keep the opening on a 4' side you can almost reach the back across the 3' side. Or look at the Jardin, mine is a couple of years old & for the bigger sizes I think they have a more flexible layout. Either way keep us posted.
