Come by and check out whatever tracks I happen to be posting. I tend to have a relatively strange taste in music and I enjoy sharing this taste with others.

If you are interested in discovering or sharing deep, strange, obscure or moving music then go ahead and jump on board!

For my first post I'll give you guys a group that I just discovered a day or so ago and am already VERY impressed with. They have influences ranging from jazz, to drone, to metal and ambient. I present to you "Dale Cooper Wuartet and the Dictaphones"

  2. I'm sub'd, seen your improv thread and know you are into what some may call...abrasive tunes. Looking forward to discovering new artists :smoke:

  3. Great man, please don't hesitate to toss in some of your own discoveries as well.

I basically want to make this thread like a lounge for obscure music so the more feedback the better.

The German (I believe) Funeral Doom band Ahab. They've got some very thick heavy music on their first album. Not a fan of their newest one though.

  5. This is a piece within a collection of Preludes written by Rachmaninoff. It's entitled "Prelude in B minor"

Fantastic "Post rock" like group. One of the better finds that I've made recently, though I have yet to listen to the whole album, I'm planning on getting the LP and doing some intense listening of the album.

  7. Very intense black metal, thick heavy atmosphere. Listening to it right now and impressed thus far.

Great songs so far. I'll post some of my favorites, though I'm not really sure what constitutes as obscure or not.

  10. Great man! There are some good bands/musicians up there. Specifically Can and Brian Eno. I'm not familiar with all those guys though so that's obscure enough for me.

Great thread! I'll probably be checking in here regularly now that I've found it, I don't have terribly much to contribute but here's what I can do for now. Godspeed isn't the most obscure of the post-rock shit BUT if by chance somebody has not yet heard them, may I present:

    [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fuoJtsXWESA&feature=related]Godspeed You! Black Emperor - Static - YouTube[/ame]

I know everyone has their own highly personal anecdote / suggestopm about how to fall in love with a certain band, so I'll just throw mine out there: Get suuuuper baked at night, put headphones on and listen to "Static" particularly the middle to end. Scariest, craziest shit ever.

  12. Dude, I'm about to get tickets to see them in October! Soooo Stoked.

  13. Man, God Speed has come through my city twice since I really got into music and both times they sold out too quick for me :(

Gonna dump some tunes in here when I'm done work later tonight, some good tunes so far ya'll

  14. Really digging on this one. Great post.

  15. Bad ass! I really need to check their calendar, see if they will ever stop near me.

Yeah great stuff all up in here, I already have a lot of listening to do. Bummer I'm dry :(

  16. ^ Yeah man, I need to search for a bit of bud myself, I'm going to a show tonight.

  17. Godspeed is amazing!
Here's are some of my favorite tunes on the electronic side of the spectrum, for anyone who's into that sort of thing:

Glad you like it man! you should get the album. It has a pretty similar atmosphere throughout, and when you hear that song in the context of the album it makes it 10x more powerful.

  19. Dropping some classic shit on y'alls ass
