Short stuff "ONYX" detailed grow and smoke review [loads of pics]

Hello grasscity!

This was my first serious grow and i am pleased with results. This is going to be as
detailed as possible grow and smoke review with lots of pics.

Oh, and don't bother spelling mistakes, english isn't my native language so i'm just doing my best.

So here is my grow report:

Growing space............40x42x55cm (WxLxH)
Soil...........................ABS greenworld potting soil
Lights........................2x23w 2300K CFL's about 18h a day, later- pure sunshine
Pot...........................4 liter (about 1gal) average plastic pot
Ventilation.................NONE until put outdoors
avg. temp..................inside: 38°C day/21°C night, outdoors: 17°C day/8°C night
light schedule.............inside 18/6 outdoors about 13/11
days seed to harvest...69 :Ddays including 3 days of dark period
nutrients used............for vegging- VITO universal NPK 3.5-2.3-5.0 For bloom- BIOPON cactus NPK 2.5-6.2-6.3

About strain: i chose ONYX because of few reviews on the internet and relative low price per seed. I bought seeds from picknmixseeds.com for this years outdoor grow (doin' good now ) and i had to buy something for a few dollars to get free shipping so i chose onyx for
shits&giggles and i don't regret it now.

This strain is very sturdy- it survived hot temps inside and two frosts outside, nute burn,
two LST's where i accidently snapped main stem when doing 1st LST and few light burns on the top leaves. I highly suggest this strain for begginners or those who want to grow a plant without much care. Good thing for stealth growers is that this strain hasn't got smell while it is growing. It appears only in late bloom- about 7th or 8th week.

My grow space: This grow had to be as stealth as possible. So i grew in small closet without any air circulation and i actually didn't thought that it will survive until the end. But it did!

Overall i can say that my grow could have been much better if i had no stealth problems. It means i could have grown in proper growbox with proper lights and air ventilation if i could. Yield was only 10grams. But hey! Weed this quality costs 20$ in my area so i am glad knowing i saved 200$ and i am smoking stuff i grew myself so i know it isn't laced or dipped in acetone (it happens here) and i can say i'm happy!

And now the best part.

Smell, taste, bag appeal and high report!
Smell: As i said, while growing buds almost didn't smell at all. Now they are cured for 3 weeks and i can describe smell as sweet, floral and a little bit sour. I haven't ever had weed that smells like this, most of weed in my area smells skunky or really sour.

I give smell 7/10 because it isn't very intense

Taste: It has became better with curing as i remember smoking it right after harvest and quick dry. Smoking with pipe first two hits are very sweet like ripe fruit and then it gets pretty harsh on the throat (didn't flush enough) Ash isn't light grey too.

I give taste 6/10 that's 9/10 for first hit and 3/10 for the rest. FLUSH IS IMPORTANT!!!

Bag appeal: Bud structure is very sativa-ish. Buds are small and airy, however light green with orange pistils and coated with trichomes. Got to remember that grow conditions were miserable with temp approx 37C, growing in only 1gal pot and no air circualtion. I believe this strain can do better.
I give bag appeal 7/10 because buds are small and airy but there is still a lot of trichs.

HIGH: VERY STRONG HEAD HIGH. I am not everyday smoker, i smoke about 2-3 times a week so 0.2 grams of this stuff takes me away

It starts slowly. It reaches it's peak in about 5min after smoking and holds there for about a hour and than sloooowly goes down. The high is very sativa-ish: giggly, light headed and spacey. It has got zero couchlock and no paranoia. i simply LOVE it!!!
I give high 10/10 because this weed discovered me what sativa is. It's almost impossible to get sativa in my area because they are not good for commercial growers (yields less)

But why in the hell would someone drop weed in acetone?! That makes absolutely no sense to me whatsoever...

Some dealers do that to make effects stronger. I am not shure if it's really acetone or some other chemical but it smells like it. Once my dealer was dry and i got contacts for some other dude. We met and he showed me some reg but the smell was awful- like acetone or acid or what not. No strain could smell like that. Obviously i stayed sober that day.

Weed has bad rep in here, because a lot of teens smoke that chemical shit and end up in hospitals or arrested. And they say afterwards that they smoked weed. Gladly there is also OK dealers who sell OK stuff, but mostly indica or indica dominant strains and no strain names ever :/

These were the reasons i got idea to grow myself- to get 100% strain names straight. And i know how my weed grew and i know it's clean from chemical shit (well, nutrients ) and prices are ridiculous here- in USD about 20$ per gram (usually 0.8) for mids. I am happy for my first grow and i just ordered more seeds to grow!

Hey buddy I only just found this thread but I'm growing an Onyx and I was wondering I know you mention smell but mine has this really strange smell like fruity but sort of grim closest comparison I can think of is vitamin juice, not like regular weed smell, did you have anything similar? Also I have started getting those white hairs coming out of my weird pear shaped bud things, how long did yours take after hairs started appearing? Finally the things I describe as pear shaped buds are sometimes turning black, did this happen with you or have I got a problem? Thanks

I suppose those "pear shaped bud things" are calyxes. If they are at the bases of stems it means plant has shown its sex and it's a girl. If calyxes are turning black that is NOT good and you should check "sick plants and problems" section.

I remember that on vegging stage when i rubbed the stem it smelled like human shit, rippen fruit and vinegar. That smell tingled my nostrils but it changed when buds appeared.
