White Widow flowering - how long to harvest?

  1. I'm in my first grow (ebb & flow hydroponics) under LEDs of White Widow. I've been flowering two plants at 12/12 for 16 weeks now (I keep excellent records) and they both are still showing new growth. One plant has so many trichromes packed together I thought I had spider mites (no leaf damage and no other signs). This is my first time with this strain and my first inside (tent) grow. Does anyone know how long this strain will continue to bud?

Most of the pistils have oranged out and some of the trichromes are starting to go opaque. I use a 30x loupe to check the color and general health of the plants. Only a couple of the very lowest water leaves have started to yellow at the edges/tips, but that may be due to shading and the fact that they drooped to the point of being in contact with the water during the flooding.

I've nothing but time and patience as far as growing, but I don't want to 'over grow' them before I flush the system. Any info/insight into this strain would be appreciated.

  2. Most breeders say 10 weeks........I just started my WW this week. Sounds promising.

  3. mine went well into 14 weeks

  4. I have grown a few harvests of Black Widow from Mr. Nice seeds.600wattHPS air-cooled hood, Bubble Bucket with res set up. My trics are milky with a few clear and amber ones at day 60.At day 60 the buzz can be intense I am thinking of giving my girls an extra week.BTW Never put your plants in darkness for more than 12-13hr at a time.In Nature nothing gets 3 days or 2 weeks of continuous darkness. As I have seen posted else where WW has different Harvest dates depending on the breeder. Its not very cost effective to have a WW strain that takes 12-14 weeks...an 8 week WW will give great yields and top notch weed at almost half the time you have now.How is your ventilation,in regards to Co2.

  5. Update to my post:

Flushed the plants at 18 weeks for two weeks. Got a little bud rot on my top most cola (hated cutting it off and tossing it). After drying and curing I find I should have started my flushing cycle far earlier. Ash is mostly black. Currently getting an older mother plant (no longer producing clonable branches) ready to start the flowering cycle. Going to try a shorter "to harvest" period this time around and see what happens.

As far as CO2 levels go, I don't have an exact number. I do have an exhaust fan that produces just under 2 bar vacuum in the tent (20 minute complete air turnover). Fans in the LED units and a small oscillating fan provide air circulation.

  6. You wasted good bud, next time wash 1/10 peroxide(drugstore brand in the brown bottle) & let it set for about 30 second seconds & rinse with plain water
