Hey all.
What you are seeing here is my very first attempt ever at any form of growing. Now I am huge on research so in comparison to my influences and teachers/guides/videos/books- it looks like im on the right track.
BUT- I am looking for growers who have had SoG experience (more specifically in CoCo) and to tell me if I am going in the right direction if I am aiming to make each cola yield 45g dry weight. I know this sounds like a lot, but I know it is achievable, and I feel I may not even get close with my first attempt but if anyone has any idea what ill get in 4 more weeks someone please fill me in haha, and also point out any errors and tell me any tips or tricks to help and if I am trimming my nodes in the right manner in terms of 'lollipopping'- as i am using this method for production every 2 weeks (see: this thread
Any questions please ask, i am fairly new to the idea of coco also but understand nutrients, feeding, EC/PH and additives very well and have an excellent feeding regime which I wont go into.

Setup is 60/40 Coco to Perlite.
20x 6L buckets under 600W HPS in 1.2sq/m
All ventilation of room is set up in a professional manner with no room for error.
Humidity sits at 65% with temps around 80f

What do you guys think?:
Sorry for CRAP photos, so hard to capture under the HPS.

Subbd. I do not know much about SOG, though I really want to give it a shot in the next few rounds. Plants seem to be looking good though. Nice bud development for only being under 12/12 for 3 weeks.

Unrelated, but I might suggest either uploading the images to the city or posting the pictures from your hosts website using: [i mg] http:// .....image url goes here...... [/I MG] (no spaces though)

looks good all together .... in my opinion I wouldnt trim any more nodes or you will just be reducing your yield... But if your looking to up your yield use advanced nutrients or humboldt nutes or if your cheap get fox farm big bloom .... your coco looks very good though and Ask Eds guide answers just about all the question you can have about coco if you havent read that.

I think you will find it very hard to achieve those yields. Not trying to rain on your parade but that's 40oz from 1.2 square metres and that's HEAPS. Good luck tho i'll be watching. you're using 2 600's in that one space?

No, I have 2 rooms the same size with a 600W each. I am aiming for that as I plan to have the 2 rooms holding 4 diff batches (10 at a time) of healthy clones that are all 2 weeks apart, so I have a harvest every two weeks and 45g dry would mean I get the 1lb every 2 weeks which I cant stress enough is only 'a dream' to me right now as it is my first time.
I am however holding onto high hopes for 1oz per cola atleast, that would be slightly more realistic and still worth my time and effort.

That's some funny shite right there..The girls don't really give a hoot what brand/products you use, or how expensive or "cheap they are..Give them the correct ratio(NPK) at proper levels, and with good genetics, dial in your environment, the gals will/should put out a good yield..

Thats what I meant. I live in a country where most GC users (american/eur) discuss products I have not seen ever but as I said I did a lot of research and I now have an advanced fully organic feed/additive system in place that has thus far produced what you see in those photos.

I'm keen to see results. I've had ideas very similar in the past. if you yield even halfpound from that every two weeks i will probably do the same. That's only 2lb from 2x600's per 8 week strain which should be achievable

Ill update in the next few days with some new pics as I have started using the next additive in my nutrient feed which caters for weeks 3-7 and apparently from what ive heard from my friends down at the hydroponic store is that this product is AMAZING in creating mass and was sold out in 2 of my regular local stores and had to drive some 40min away to get it.
Thanks all for the interest, stay subbed and ill make sure to keep updating with better pics as I have high hopes for SoG and I hope my trials and errors are a good tutorial for others interested in trying it out.
A harvest every two weeks, because why wouldnt you? ;]

I am on day 34 as of today, will take some photos tonight to show you how its come along.
Not much inflation growth so far but I have high hopes for these last 3 weeks to truly make it flourish as i had a expert grower friend come check their health and he says they look good besides a little over defoliated.

okay guys, update time:

here are some day 35 into 12/12 photos.
so as it gets closer to 8 weeks i see now that i should have done even MORE smaller buckets but using this size of plant for good figures, however- beginners mistake and i wont be doing it again but what do you guys think anyway for day 35, and first grow ever let alone hydro based?
also thinking of going scrog based when i find the right strain from my already large variety of pheno's i have on hand, thoughts on that?

Thanks

Looking good. I thought u would suffer a huge yield loss because of over defoliating. Not so sure now. Keep us updated.

Hey i'm new to growing as well but looks like you trimmed too many leaves off. Not sure what lollipopping is but you may have over-done it a bit. Don't worry it's easy to do, last night I trimmed off tons of leaves in my garden and think I went overboard also. My plants are much older and larger though so hopefully there's still enough foilage. Anyway I just wanted to point out that if you're doing SOG you want all the plants the same height, so having plants at different phases of flower might not be ideal. Why not just have a harvest every month, it would be simple with 2 roooms and probably save you some headaches. I was gonna try the same type thing with a harvest every 3 weeks using 3 lights. If I simplify my nutrient schedule I should still be able to it... just keep in mind how complicated things could get with nutrients etc if you have a lot going on. Good Luck with everything.

As far as yield I think 0.5 g per watt is the standard for a beginner to shoot for which would be 300g per light if you harvest all at once. If anyone else can chime in on standard yields I'm interested. How realistic is it to get 1 lb from a 600 Watt HPS?

Are you growing from seed or clones?

These were clones that were gifted to me and were the worse ones from the 30 I was given as a starter, some had mold which I tended to but otherwise they were the smallest ones and grew FAST, starting my other batches now with better more healthy genetics/clones, will start a new journal and link to that when the time comes.

Lots of changes have happened since! :D

EDIT: Also since then I have decided I am going to grow this kind of sized cola but in small bucket 1/3rd the size and do double the plants as currently i am not utilizing my space.
