Moderation on the weekends

I know that this is somewhat of a touchy subject (from reading previous threads) but is there nothing that can be done about the lack of moderation during the weekends?

Between late Friday night, and late Sunday night it's almost always a free-for-all on the City, with a moderator popping in from time-to-time to close a handful of threads, leaving the rest up for the entirety of the weekend which almost always devolve into yet more rule breaking.

I understand that weekends are prime time for people who work during the week to go out and have fun. That's cool, everybody deserves fun. But seriously, weekends get pretty out of hand here to the point that when the moderators start showing up more frequently during the week, reported items are looked over and just buried because of the sheer amount of stuff that gets reported during Friday-Sunday.

There are so many new people joining because it's summer, so the vibe of the City really becomes somewhat nasty during the weekends, with tons of threads about violence and other drugs and just nasty remarks and hateful comments in general.

Noticed this as well. But what are we to do. Just wait for the kids to go back to school.

It's unfortunate that they are short handed with mods.
I feel the same way, it's to the point where I'm going to stop reporting threads. I shouldn't have to report the same thread that is straight up against the rules multiple times.

It seems a shame that good members who want to help out around the city are becoming discouraged...

Summer is a crazy time here...kids galore, and it's also the time that people, like mods for example, get busy IRL as well...

Things will even out...they always do...we just have to try to ride out the storm until then without becoming too discouraged or disillusioned...

Hey...I'm just a regular member here, same as anyone else, but I'd like to say that I appreciate the other members who care enough about this place to even bother reporting things...this is our city...never let the trolls take that away from you...

I totally understand IF, the summers are always hard on any popular message boards.
The mods do a great job here by all means I don't mean to make it sound like they don't.

It would be awesome if there was a designated weekend mod that would be able to take care of those really bad threads before they become train wrecks/unnecessarily long. But at the same time I completely understand that finding mods in general is a difficult task as it is, and finding one that would work weekends is probably like a needle in a haystack.

Seriously!! I report and report and it seems like literally nothing happens. I've reported this one kid like 3 times who has SAID they were 17, and they're still posting. So annoying.

Guys, you don't have to report things more than once, it actually doesn't help. We see ALL the reports and we get to them as quickly as possible. Looks like this weekend we had a perfect storm of no coverage for a number of reasons...but relax, it takes far less time to delete spammers and shit than you guys think. We'll get to it as quickly as we can

Haha honestly wildwill I'm usually pretty stoned when I get on here so I'm sure I probably report some things more than once. Sorry for that!

Yeah, that's OK, and really it's not that big a deal to report things more than once. And I guess it helps a bit to bump the thread up in the queue...but don't feel like you have to do so. It's like hitting the button on the crosswalk or the elevator...you only need to do it once.

I believe what we should all do is a little empathy.

Ive been extremly busy lately But I appreciate crisp, leesh and other members whom take the time to report, I havent been loggin on during the weekends..
But I will now.. See If i can help some...

Seriously, though...life gets busy for some of us. We'll have more Mods soon enough...but when we do, please, no complaints about too much moderation.
