i've got 10 and 15 gal pots with peat, compost, perlite. how much 'plant-tone' can i use? the bags instructions seem ambiguous. should i worry about over doing it? or just use up what i've got.
i've already put a 1.5 cups in each 15gal that i mixed up fresh soil.
threw a handful in each 10gal that i re-used and added compost and perlite.

I am definitely a novice here but....I was working on the math per instructions on the bag and it comes out to one cup per 10 quarts or 2.5 gallons. I mixed my organic soil in five gallon batches and added 2 cups per 5 gallons of soil mix. I used my mix to amend the garden soil for vegetables, herbs and all flowers planted this year. No one is complaining ...yet....all green, healthy and beautiful.
My mix is
3 part SP moss
1 part local landfill compost
1 part cow manure
1 part mushroom compost
1 part EWC
Amendments included per 5 gallon
2 cups plant tone
1 cup kelp meal
1 cup Dr Earth Bud and Bloom #8
Hopefully all I will have to do is add light and water.
Good luck with your mix

I use approximately 2 to 3 cups per cubic foot of soil mix (7 gallons for all intensive purposes)

I use a bit less than Jerry, ~2cups/cf along with top dressing later on.
Easier to start off light and dial it in on each successive mix/grow. You can certainly over do it, as with anything.
