Ok so im new to this site n need some help! I have a couple ladies in my veggie garden n im gettin paranoid bout helicopters! I have cages around all my tomatoes and ladies but my ladies are growin twice as fast as my maters! I live n a neighborhoodon a hill n a small town inside city limits. I live at the end of the street so neighbors arent a problem really n no one can see my garden unless u park in my driveway but even then u cant tell whats in the garden unless u walk up to it. Ive tied my ladys down to the cages so they will grow out n not up but im sure as of right now if a heli was to fly over they could tell what it is!!! N its too late to uproot em n take em elsewhere. Ive read on here u could use a canopy to cover ur garden but i feel thats way too suspicious where i live. I jus really need some advice before july n aug come around n the fuzz starts flyin around. Should i jus say fuck it n chop em down? God that would break my heart. Any help would b appreciated guys!

You'll b fine man. Most of em are looking for large scale ops and they fly over looking for indoor crops at night. Again... On the larger scale of things.

Relax boss

LST...Low Stress Training...read up on it. Basically you can manipulate your plant to grow in different ways...usually resulting in a compact plant that outproduces a non LST'ed plant.

For the helicopter thing were often more paranoid when we do something illegal when no one really is paying more attention to you. Thats a good thing but use some logic....there is no glory in busting a grower with 1-2 plants. Those choppers up there are looking for something else or if there looking for Cannabis there looking for large scale growing which even if you do not realize happens in all 50 states. Just like right now down here in the south all over there are illegal moonshiners chugging out there drink.

If your growing outside go grab some already grown tomatoe plants from Home Depot and place them around your Cannabis plants.

o ok! ive never heard it called that! hahaha. yeah i do that also. and i already have tomatoes beside em they just have the blight and are not growing good right now. ive been treating them with neem oil so they should be ok in the next couple of weeks but for now my ladies stick out like a sore thumb. ive tied em down to the cages with shoe laces so im good on that end. maybe ur right, im just bein too paranoid. just never grown on my own property and i can be honest, it sux. too stressful. never again will i do it but i gotta get through these next 3-4 months.

Its why the majority of us grow indoors. Out of sight out of mind. If you own your own place and grow inside then never a worry really.

All depends on what you wanna spend how much space etc. You can grow with CFLs which are cheap or a 1000 dollar LED panel like I got lol. HPS is always a good way to go. Tents, fans, carbon filters etc.

Nice thing though is once you buy it all its yours for life oviously and can have continuous grows.

You'd be looking at around $500 I'd say. Me and my buddies built a room and all of our stuff was under $500, including the light and growing supplies.

You could start with 1 light and 4-6 plants, then upgrade as time goes on. Its like $200 for a light, you should grow in smart pots if you want to do soil too. Soil and pots are cheap, you'd need ventilation and smell control but thats not too expensive.

Ok, not to try to make you paranoid or anything, but a few years back the cops busted a decent sized grow op near one of my parents' neighbor's houses. For a couple of years after that they would buzz my mom's garden. She had tomatoes and tomatilloes in cages with clear plastic around them, and they would fly low and take a good long look before flying off. This was in Oregon, but I could see the same thing going in Kentucky. I'd be careful if I were you.

EDIT: What if you pulled them and put them in pots? There are a bunch of guys on here who use 5-gallon buckets. You could get a decent-sized HPS to finish them out with less stress.

I can't say about KY, but I am in east tn and they have busted a few small grows outside with copters but the only reason they found them was because they were searching for Meth houses. We see a large bust every now and then ( got like 30k plants from one of them) but not many small grows. I know people that grow anywhere from 20 to 100 plants a season outdoors, and have for decades.

If they are high up, and don't hover then it is normal traffic. Hovering, flying very low, or circling will usually mean they are searching for something.

It might be worth doing a Google search for your county and city and drug bust. One thing about law enforcement agencies, they love to show off their power. You could probably get a good idea of activity based on past bust.
