This journal begins with a Super Sour OG plant that has been in flower since 6-2-12. I also took some cuttings from this tree on that day that have been trying to root so I can learn one strain for a while. I got the original plant as a clone on 5-2-12 from a local dispensary for a small donation of eight dollars. I am using Canna Coco with a+b, rhizotonic, and canazyme. My pattern of watering is about every two or three days. Feedings have been completely random so far, but I started out with a small amount of nutrients and worked my way up to what the Canna Coco feeeding chart told me to do by the end of a 1 month veg. I am not using insturments (ph, temp, and humidity) which is ok by me because I want to learn this by more sight. Which is why I do want a jewler's loop. These pictures tell a better story of this grow than words alone can so here you go GC:

5-2-12 The day I brought the baby home and transplanted her.

5-12-12 Ten days later and still in the closet vegging under mixed cfl's with the first plant I ever grew. About the first plant(right) I ever grew: It was a Lemon OG. She was stunted from the treatment I gave her while trying to learn about growing but produced a eighth of some dank and a good learning experience.

6-8-12 First week of flower and is put into the new medicine cabinet. I will post more on the cab after I catch this journal up to date. which will be in about an hour cause I need to put my baby to sleep now. I am an hour late and it is the first time it has happened so I aint too worried. I will even take a quick photo of where she is at right now.

Looking good. From the pics it doesn't look like you have any intake or exhaust in that box. How are your temps? Are you just leaving the box open for some time per day so the plants can get some fresh air?

Thanks for asking because I need help with this. Right now I am lucky enough to be stuck at home all day so I keep it open when the lights are on. But yes I do have a heat problem when it has to be closed up for a couple of hours. For ventalation the only thing I have done was to have my fan blow down from the top and then put a couple of 2 inch holes on the floor. I need to get better air flow so if you or anybody has any ideas on the best intake/exaust system to keep the temps right I'm all ears.

Here way here are the lights I am using and the space that is being used:

30" high
30" wide
15" deep

I have 3 of these 32/150watt and one 26/100watt G.E. reveal cfl bulbs.

Your cab has similar dimensions to one of the cabs I'm using as a flowering chamber. I haven't started working on that one yet. But you can see what I did with the Veg chamber and try to copy it. The link is in my sig.

Bascially I used 2 120mm PC fans, one for intake and one for exhaust. If you want you can just buy one 120mm fan and just use it for exhaust but cut a hole in the bottom for passive intake without a fan.

I wasn't too worried about light proofing for the veg cab so I just made some light boxes with the cardboard from a 12 pack of soda. Works well enough for my needs.

I took a look at your veg cab and it looks really proficient so I will keep that type of design in mind. I will also be following your grow since we are working with the same type of flowering space to see which methods of using our space works better.

I'm using a 150w HPS and a few CFL's for side lighting when I flower. It will be interesting to see what differences we have with HPS vs CFL.

Also it's going to be about a month before I start flowering. So don't lose interest. lol

I just finished reading your Cabinet Grow and Design thread. I'm subscribed. I have a bunch of questions for you. Since these questions are about your grow, I will go to your thread and inquire.:smoke:

My lights have been burning my leaves so I started something simple to hang my lights better. I have to water today so I will put this journal up to date with pictures as soon as I finish.

5-19-12. Some of my leaves started turning yellow but I beleive it is from having the lights too close.

I've used this table in the past to help guide me in diagnosing issues. I'll leave this here for you in hopes that it helps. In this case though it does look like light bleach from them being too close.

Thanks for the chart. (I was about to type your name but realized that would be senseless to point out who I am thanking when we are the only ones in this thread so far. :confused_2:) So with your chart I decided that I would drop my nutrients down and and keep better track of my feeding schedule in case the the heat was not the only thing affecting the leaves. Also it has made me want to get some insturments so I won't mistake a problem as easy. My last watering was on 5-20-12 and I mixed 5ml of canna coco A and 5ml of canna coco B with a gallon of water. I think that is about half of what I normally feed. I am going to do a major update on my next post because one of my clones is showing roots and I want journal her entire life span.

Oh, yes I would very much appreciate you documenting the growth of your clone. All of my attempts (only 2) have failed. I think that has more to do with me not thinking to take clones until 6 weeks into flower though.

Hey so I just re-read your thread and have a question did you re-veg that Lemon OG after it flowered the first time? That's what I plan on doing with my GDP after she gets done and hopefully make her my mum. How long did it take you to see new growth?

Anything I should know about revegging?

MAJOR UPDATE ON GROW:

I am adding two clones to my journal. They were started about a week apart but the one started later has rooted first. Here are a couple of pictures to show how I got it to root.

I started out with 3 cuttings but one did not make it. I kept them in this bowl with seran wrap to keep them humid. They stayed under a 26/100watt cfl 24 hours unless I had them in shaded sunlight for a few hours out of the day. I let them breath and used a spray bottle to mist them down often.
Posted Image

I started my cutting with rootech and fed them only water till now. Not true cause I also sprayed them down with some dilluted rhizotonic a few times.
Posted Image

6-8-12. This is the first cutting I took and has been in canna coco and pertlite for 8 days right here.
Posted Image

6-8-12. This was a healthier cutting I took that has been in canna coco for 2 days right here.
Posted Image

6-12-12. The arrows are pointing at leaves i ended up removing later that day.
Posted Image

6-22-12. We have roots!
Posted Image

6-22-12. And this is where we are at today. I keep the one showing roots in a black cup to hide the roots from the light untill transplant. The day before it showed roots I sprayed it with rhizo and let alot run off into the soil as a light watering. It is ready to be watered today so I think might add a tiny amount of a+b nutes. Anybody know if this is right since coco coir has zero nutes?

Nice job mate. Thanks for the pics. Hopefully I'll have more luck my second try.

Did you see my question about revegging your Lemon OG?

I would add just a very little bit of nutes maybe 1/4 or 1/2 of a normal dose.

I did not re-veg my Lemon OG plant because I felt like it took up too much light in my box. I really just wanted to move on and focus on the new plant at the time with all my newly acquired experience and knowledge. I can say it was a great strain to learn with since it was so forgiving to how bad I treated it. Here is some pics just cause I am overly proud of my first plant ever. lol.

Yea, I would be proud of that too. I wish I would have taken some pics of my first grow years ago. To see how far I've come between then and now would be nice.

Took a pic after coming home and finding my rooted clone spilled out on the ground. I have it on top the stove, under the light there and it fell somehow. The plant was out of the container but none of the roots got tore so I think she will survive. Just thought I would log it in to see if any progress is affected. Hopefully she don't skip a beat though.

I was having trouble uploading the picture so I will only post it for comparison if the plant goes south. Oh yeah I also fed it today. I ended up using about 2.5ml of a+b per gallon with some weak rhizo I was using as a foiler spray. I waterered it slow with the spray bottle untill it had a pettry good amount of run off.

Let me start my entry today with a question. I need to know how to turn my pics into thumbnails. I want to edit my pics so that I can scroll through my journal easier.

Now an update on the my super sour og. I watered yesterday on 6-23-12. I fed her 7.5 of a+b mixed with a gallon of water. She is not looking so pretty right now. I am still pretty sure that the laves got burnt from having the lights too close with the door closed a little longer than it was before. I am going to get a thermometer so I can monitor the temps and figure out what kind of ventalation system I might build. Here are some pictures in case somebody wants to agree or diagree about what happened to my leaves. The only other thing I can add is that the problem seems to be fixed since the coloring of the leaves has not spread and even the ones that were affected don't look like they are going to die. So should I remove them or keep them haning on. I am starting my fourth week of flower. The only effort I put into fixing the problem of was raising the lights, lowering the nutrients kept, and tried to keep the doors open so ventalation is not an issue. I also I mounted my fan in the upper corner to keep my leaves blowing at all times.

6-23-12.
