Alright, so on the table for our country right now is the next Presidential Election. Now, I dont know about you all, but I think there are only 3 candidates with a remote chance of even being considered, listed respectivly by chance:
  • Barack Obama
  • Mitt Romney
  • Ron Paul

So of the above, I personally think Obama has the best chance. Im not to big into politics, but every time I turn on the Television, I seem to hear Romney's chances circling the drain. And Ron Paul? Well Ron Paul doesnt seem to get much media coverage at all.

So, who do you guys think has the best chance?
Now, before you answer, please consider that there is a reason I posted this thread on GrassCity, and not some other forum. One, I love the community here. You guys are fuggin great! :hello: And two, well we all share a common mistress: Mary Jane. :smoke:

So with all things considered, in what candidate can we [at least] hope to legalize / decriminalize / medicinilize our favorite plant? Are you interested in legalization / decriminalization etc? Why or Why the f**k not?! Lol

Ive started this thread just to get some ideas going. Like I said Im not big on politics but im sure some of you out there are so Id love to hear your opinions.

I believe Obama has some interest in the topic, but is avoiding it until hopefully being elected for a second term. I dont think he'll pull the weed card during candidacy unless some poll shows that if he pulled in the Marijuana demographic that he'd for sure win. I hope that there is some chance with Obama. He has stated that he "isnt in favor of legalization" but has mentioned at one point that we need to rethink and decriminalize our marijuana laws. I guess we will see. Im sure that the weed topic will come up during presidential debate, whomever the candidates end up being.

Id love to be able to grow plants in my home and smoke without breaking the law. I dont believe in the system or the current war on drugs, or at least on marijuana. I feel as if the public is constantly fed lies about the harmful affects of our beloved plant , when there has not been one death attributed to its use, but everyday we see deaths attributed to alcohol and tobacco. Both of these substances underwent prohibition, and served their time and are now free to be picked up at your local gas station... I think its time we treat Marijuana with similar respect, and promote its legality.

Ron Paul for decriminalization. Obama for legislation. I don't think either will happen.

Obama does not support the "legislation" of marijuana nor its "legalization", if that's what you were attempting to spell. He has consistently shown that he cannot fathom marijuana legalization.

Also, Obama is against marijuana decriminalization after flip-flopping on the issue.

Having said that, between Obama and Willard, I think Obama is going to be marginally better for marijuana users.

If you think Obama or Romney will do anything to help smokers, you've simply been smoking too much shitty weed.

Obama has been worse for weed than GWB. Don't believe any lies he says about it during his campaign.

Since I don't think that any candidate will publicly support legalization until public support crosses the 65% line, you're going to have to make your decision on other issues and keep dodging the cops for another four years and seven months.

If you look at polls like Record-High 50% of Americans Favor Legalizing Marijuana Use then its not going to be this president, nor the one after him.

Why is there no check mark for every president on this list in the category of threats against doctors who recommend MMJ?

There are friends of mine, who are doctors in prison for it right now.

Blocking MMJ research? Hell, Nixon had it researched, and then declared war on his own panels findings!

That chart is quite subjectively filled in, is what I'm saying. Presidents are paid spokesmen, there is no real man in that suit.

Barrack has done nothing to help smokers. Both him and Romney are in the pockets of the timber, big pharma, tobacco, alcohol, etc lobbyists. Neither one has does anything in the past to show they are ever going to do anything to benefit smokers.

If you want pot to be legalized or at least decriminalized, or for them to stop busting medical marijuana facilities, the only two options you have are right in Ron Paul or vote Gary Johnson for libertarian.

You are so uninformed it is hilarious. Nearly every person except the poster who showed the chart knows jack shit on how marijuana works, especially in relation to decriminalization and legalization. Get a clue and don't be a sheep.

First i got to start off with this... If you vote for a candidate only for the purpose of Marijuana legalization that is just ignorant... These politicians are sucking America dry, and we really need to rethink how we vote.

I promote and support Ron Paul and Gary Johnson for this election. Obama and Romney are the same person and continue to promote these bipartisan programs that are utter failures (Such as the Fed, Drug policy, War mongering, etc...).

Vote for a candidate that promises Liberty and Freedom. A candidate that promotes a republic not a democracy, because never ever should the majority be able to control the individual.

Gary J. for me.

And for the record, any politician that stands up for marijuana can take a seat in my teepee. everything else is just a bunch of fluff. Call me what you like...

Funny how you don't care and still have an opinion. Sounds like most Obama supporters.
