My Girlfriend lives out of state

Hey, I have a girlfriend that lives out of state and I met her on xbox live and we've been together for a year and 4 months now and some friends make fun of me for it but the rest dont she lives in florida and i live in iowa for spring break i went to go see her and i have cheated on her cuz the distance was killing me but i know its killing her too and im only 18 and i still live with my parents im done with high school but i cant find a job and have no money to buy a plane ticket to go live with her and her mom my girlfriend is also 18 and idk i guess what im trying to ask if anyone else has stories where u met ur girlfriend or boyfriend online and if uve seen eachother or met online then moved in with eachother

It's happened before, but you need to get a job first before worrying about a girlfriend. Plus, before you move out there make sure she knows you cheated because what if you move out there then tell her you cheated and she doesn't want anything to do with you anymore...you'll be fucked. I've did the whole online dating thing before, because I'm from Missouri and lesbian there aren't a whole lot of gays around here. That's really tight you met her off of xbox live though (don't ever meet alot of girls on there). Have you skyped with her or anything?

im gonna have to disagree simply because they can and have worked out in a larger majority of people i know, i thought the same thing you did for awhile until i started asking how people met and stuff.


im in this situation at the moment, she visits me, and hopefully will move here one of these days very shortly!!!!!!!!!!!!!:smoke:



edit: meant to say the only reason i couldnt see this one working is age, and you did indeed already cheat....not cool, should of just called her and broke up done ur thing and tried to get back together, that sounds bad but my main point with that is just break up if u wanna bone another person

I think that relationships like this should be left "open" until you meet.

it's true.. the distance is stressful and not allowing them to possibly have sex with someone else is silly. Sure, they may not do it, but if ya'll never had physical contact then I don't think it should be cheating.

It's human nature to have sex.

But man, don't try to move down there and live with her when you've only even met once.
Talking online is all well and good, but I don't think you can have a complete idea of who a person really is without more face-to-face interaction.

i never really cheated i just kissed another girl it wasnt much. I do know it was bad though and i shouldnt have done it.

I met my now husband online over a video game. It required a lot of communication for it to work. But it did, but I never cheated on him either, he had my total dedication. I think you're too young for a long distance relationship though, no offense but you've already cheated on her once.

Im going to keep it G with you. To start, I wouldnt date a girl from a game personally, but who knows. Iowa and florida are far away. I live in Atlanta and Florida is a good distance away from Me so I know thats rough.


Ill say this right now. Long distance relationships are hard. I would advise you to move on unless:

-You still see her at VERY LEAST every two weeks.
-You have a car that you can drive to her or have plane-ticket money that you are willing to spend to get to her.
-You Trust her COMPLETELY... because girls cheat too you know, and moreso when they are fucking with dudes who will never meet their bf.
-You are sure you can make it happen

Most long distance relationships fall through. And your 18... Have you graduated high school yet? If so are you in college? If so, get a new chick. Unless you love that girl and her Gamertag.

I'm in a similar situation, i haven't been with my girlfriend long but I'm pretty sure she's the one. We want to spend the rest of our lives together. She lives 3 states away and i love her to death. We're making it work but its definitely hard, time is the true test of love (besides trust). The distance thing kills me too but i would never cheat on her.

I know this an older thread and OP said they broke up,but I wanted to share a story of someone I knew who met a person on XBL.

I was with a girl from 2003 to 2007 and she had a cousin who was a major gaming junkie.You know,the ones who literally play all day and nite.

Well he ended up talking to a girl who lived in England and talked to her all the time,everyday.

Well,they ended up meeting(I believe she came out the Venice Beach area to his house,first.)

Long story short,the last I heard in my relationship with my gf(haven't really talked to her much after the break up)her cousin and the girl he met on XBL got married.

Pretty crazy shit,me thinks!
