Ok guys first time growing so I would appreciate as much advice as possible. Starting my first grow with 3 seeds (ordered 10 but since it's my first grow I don't want to mess up and lose some).

Started germinating about 40 minutes ago using the paper towel and 2 plate method

Well since this is my first grow I'm super paranoid so I'm only keeping the 2 stronger ones and I'm putting them in a hydro and the other outside

So last night I Put the seeds in this peat pellets that lowes advertises for tomatoes. One picture has 4 pellets that's just because I got lazy and never took it out. Right now they are under a 150w crystal clear bulb.

Kind of worried I messed up somewhere. I used tap water for the pellets not sure if that's ok or not. And I'm not sure if I'm using the right light. I bought a 450w son Argo but I don't have the right base for it so i had to improvise last night with the 150w.

All and any advice is appreciated. This looks a lot easier than I feel it is especially with the whole patient thing.

they don't need light untill the plant pops up.
tap water is fine for germination as long as you let the water stand for 24 hours first to let the nasty shit evaporate off.

for veg have a look for T5 lighting and have a good read through
http://forum.grassci...-cfl-guide.html
or
http://forum.grassci...t-lighting.html
or
http://forum.grassci...tosythesis.html

don't give the plants ANY nutes untill either the very first small round leaves (cotyledon i think is the name of them) turn yellow or fall off and then start your nutes at a 1/4 of what it says on the bottle.

what nutes are you going to use ?
what are your plants going into, dwc ?
do you have a PH meter & a EC/PPM meter ?

any pic's of the growroom set up ?
good luck

Ok awesome question midlife and thanks for the advice.

I'm going to use a hydroponic system I ordered from general hydroponics (of course pics will come but it looks like every other system) but for only one plant. The other two will go into a soil pot which I will use fox farms ocean forest. The reason for that is because I heard that its ideal for beginners (the soil doesn't react a quickly so there's more time to correct mistakes).

The nutes I'm going to use are synthetic grow that came with the hydroponic system then use tiger bloom

And I do have a ph tester but what's an ec/ppm?

And I will upload pics of the room as soon as I can but my seeds haven't popped up yet should I be worried?

Ec/Ppm is a reading you get from a TDS meter. The TDS meter is used to measure the disolved solids in your solution. Basically its used to see how your plants are eating or not eating.

Ok so after a lot of failed seeds tried one last seeds

I changed the grow room, the light, and the process of growing the seed. This time the room is much cooler the soil I feel is much better (fox farms ocean forest). The thermometer broke so whatever is in the picture is what I have besides nutes.

BTW I'm so fucking happy it actually sprouted
