The name given to different strains are just that; Names. I never ask for the name of the grade Im grabbing.

Either its shitty bunk grade, High grade or Kush to me.
I only look at the bud and smell it and that will tell me if it will smoke nice or not. Maybe not the exact high, but after chopping I can tell when the grade I'm getting is shit, high grade, or kush; and i only smoke kush and occasionally high grade.


Regardless of their names, I dont beleive changing them will help lifting marijuana prohibition.

If anything, adding 'scientific' names to the bud may work in the opposite way, where individuals uneducated in cannabis would think "Kushimous Maximous" is some new super synthetic drug derived from the plant or created in a lab.

Labels are monstrously important when it comes to influencing the public's perception of certain things. Just like the US Patriot Act - a terrible bill by all means, but it had a nice little name and it was passed because of that. Yeah, just because of the name.
