 Well Hello!..

This is a first grow for me, and im waiting on my stuff to get in to build my micro grow cabinet.
the cabinet i have is 44" tall, 15"wide, 25"deep. thats inside measurements.
here is a link to my box details, and maybe an idea for a box of your own.. grat prices! free shipping! cant beat that shit..
Heavy Duty Crate Style Affordable Cable Trunks Inside Dimensions 44" x 21" x 15"
ready box for your needs.

im going to go with CFL mostly, i like the stealth and low energy.

my main bulb is the Lotus Dual Spectrum. and im not sure on other light i will use at this point.. maybe some LED if i can ever find out whats the best to go with, 90w ufo, or led spotlight, or whatever..

thats why im making this Thread... The whole World of like minded peers have some damn good input, and i can use any bit of good help. :D

Thanks for any Tidbits u may bring!..:smoke:

saw that this morning, only day two.
after soaking in a cup of water over night, they went into the paper towle and into the ziploc bag. works pretty good as u can see..
the three down the middle with the most growth i knew they would be the best, they sank first while the others floated till the next morning i swirled the cup around and they sank too.. im not 100% its the same 3 lol but pretty sure it might be..
these are just the best bag seeds ive collected over the last few months, (all Dank seeds).
im just running these to see how my box dose before i use my GOOD seeds, (ill list my strains at a later date)
this is just the start.
stay tuned!

You germinated quite a bit different then I am used to, why did you soak them in water AND use the paper towel method?

Just wondering...

I haven't yet.. but I read either of the two separately. But never together, I'll give it a go!

Soak overnight in water, then paper towel method inside a ziplock, but for how long?

sorry about the late reply. just got home from work..

What i did was got a glass of, all i had was tap. so i got a full cup and left that set out for 24 hours.
then i got my bag o' seeds, and sorted out what looked like the weakest. the light colors or just small. i kept the darkest with the best markings on them.
dumped them into the cup, and let that sit for about 24 hours in the window that dose not get much sun light, idk if thats good or bad.. lol but it worked nice..
so after 24 hours go by i dumped most of the water and the ones that were still floating i trashed. so i kept about a shot glass worth of water at the bottom with the seeds that were at the bottom. got three paper towels, kept two together and one seperate. folded the two so it had a thick bottom to soak up and hold more water, but not to flood them and cut off air.
then with the last fold of the two paper towels i folded over top of the seeds.
then with the single one i just filded it over to have in total (2 actual thicknes sheets of paper towel) and a sponge size bottom to hold plenty of water.
then just put it in a ziplock with plenty of air in it, if that matters idk.. and kept it in the low light window, and maybe like an hour in the sun light in the other window in my room..

So now i just got home and looked at them and have shown it to work pretty damn good.
id say they are ready for soil. maybe..

ill post a pic in a few..

Looks like your posting pics from Australia man (upside down) lol. I like the idea of your crate. I've never used a lotus bulb personally but I have been using CFL's for all of my grows. 3 so far each time I got a healthy yield.

I like the CFL's because you really don't have to think too hard about ventilation because they aren't going to get super hot. Check out my thread to look at how I setup my cab. Might give you inspiration.

Rule of thumb is 100w for the first plant and add 50 for each additional plant.

120w CFL will be of good use for vegging 1 or 2 plants. I would suggest mounting it horizontally so that more surface area of the bulb is exposed to your plants. I'd also suggest trying to rig up some sort of reflector.

You can DIY this pretty easily with something like a foil turkey pan, or if you want it to look more 'pro' grab a 6 inch HAVC duct, cut it in half and shape it yourself.

I've seen many people simply use half a Pepsi can or whatever, not sure how reflective it really is but if your in a pinch it would work

Yea, Blackweeds is right. A soda can will work but I think it might be a little small for that huge light you bought. If you do go this route try to superglue 2 of them together.

Also a good thing to do is cut the bottom off, and open the sides like a proper lamp shade type thing. Hard to explain but I'll post pics if I remember. I would also coat the inside with Mylar the stuff that emergency Blankets are made of.
