Well seems to me after about 6 months of smoking dank buds almost every day multiple times, the short term forgetfulness gets ridiculous. I know that if i stop smoking the marijuana the memory loss will go away, however it is an annoying definitely noticeable side effect.

I often lose focus when i'm talking to someone, or zone out hard throughout the day. Forgetting simple every day shit and losing my keys is at an all time 'high'.
any experience with this, seasoned tokers? :smoke:

I loose track of days and little things, like I thought yesterday was tuesday when it was thursday... But that's as bad as it gets. I actually enjoy forgetting the bullshit. Just need to keep the important stuff on the top shelf.

Burnouts don't affect my memory. Only when I'm high do I have short term memory loss.

I keep myself from losing stuff by having a place for all my items. If something doesnt go in its predefined spot, it gets lost without fail. I really feel the effects of memory loss from bud b/c i play guitar and i always struggle to memorize songs or remember a song i learned the day before. :(

Iv been toking it up for about 5 years, and it definitely has an effect on my short term memory. It has gotten to the point where I am used to it so I don't really notice it now, but as stated, the small stuff, or like random words sometimes are hard to think of. But, that is it. No big problems, or thought process problems. And as said, it is nice forgetting the bullshit lol

It's affected my memory. I forget things a lot, but I've always had a bad memory. Bud made it worse though, I know that for a fact. Everybody is different though...

Iv had a pretty shity memory for as Long as I can remember. But as of recently my memory has been really wack.it's weird because I've been smoking multiple times a day for years, but the last couple months I've been doing stupid shit like staying on the highway 10 minuts past the exit I was supposed to take or go to a buddy's house to pick something up and leave with out it. It was getting so bad I decided to cut back to just blazing on sun days which only made me relize how hopelessly addicted I am.

I have never really had a good memory, even as a child. But yes weed has made it slightly worse, but not so much that it really affects anything major, just kind of annoying.

you can work through it man as you progress it will become more of a creative tool than a nuisance it allows you to step back(so-to-speak) and see the whole picture allowing you jump positions better... at least from what ive found... given i mainly play original i have no issue playing covers....

I smoked everyday for 6 months (I'm taking a break now) and the only time I couldn't focus when I was stoned was when I didn't get good sleep the night before.

WOW I cannot believe this.

I used to suffer from SHIT memory, like rediculously shit, i'd forget people called, where i'd meet someone, times, days (one day I came home from school and went sleep for a couple hours and woke up and got ready for school again, duh)... Anyway I had more intellegence than common sense.

Now i've smoked weed day after day, my memory is amazing, I can literally remember 8-10 didget numbers, lists, events, details and I can even estimate the time and be fairly accurate.

There's been studies that suggest marijuana stimulates brain cell growth.

I used to notice it when I was a new smoker. Now that I do it a lot I don't notice it. Maybe that is just because I am used to having a horrible memory.

I have noticed that things that I experience while high I remember best while high and things I experience sober I remember best while sober.

This is called something like state dependent learning or something along those lines.
