So, this is actually round two for me. Grow number one was a massive learning experience and a bit rough around the edges. Low yeild in the end do to noobish mistakes. Well now after all the trial and error, I'm ready and willing to do it right this time.

This is mainly to help me keep track of importaint moments in my grow... And also gives me somthing to work on at work!

Seed history.

So, I've germed this little seed I got from a cross strain a couple of didstant friends did recently, the plant it came from was a female that was polli.nated via q tip from some other plant they had going... So I'm interested to see what this cross between the two will look like!

Now, I have it in a small plastic 20 oz cup for the time being.
Soil mix is happy frog potting soil with a 3 to 1 perlite mix.
Nuts I will be using through veg is from general organics
Bio thrive
Cal mag +
Bio marine

I might add some kelp... But maybe later on.

Now for the lighting/box in general

So, currently I have a cleverly designed box housing made from ikea kitchen cabinets.
Four 2' t5ho 54watts a piece
And two actual 42watt cfls. (Pretty big actually...)

For flower, I will be using a 400 watt HPS sunsystem/ with built in ballast...unless I get somthing new. Its kinda hard to cool... :(

Ventilation consists of two 120mm kaze cpu fans (best ones I could fine in the local cpu store), rated at 142 cfm, serving as my exhaust.
And a passive intake connected to an ac unit for cool airflow.
I also have a circulating fan on the inside for added air flow.
The inside of said box is lined in mylar as well, not the best job, but it works.

Well, I think that just about does it. Time for the fun part, waiting for the dern thing to grow!

Well, temps are staying around 77-80F ,depending if the AC is running. Humidity is 30 at the moment I last checked. Plant seems to have loved the feeding the other night. new growth in joints of stems.

Any one else love taking pictures alittle too much?

Some lettuce I've been growing as well. If only my ladies did this well... :\

Looking pretty good so far! :)

Are you sure that you can't come up with another seed or three to start up, though? It would just be a bummer if you spent all this time and effort on a boy... realizing you've spent months of patience and effort, with no smoke at the end to show for it, is never a whole lot of fun. :o

Update!

So I've added a DIY co2 generator, pretty cheap and easy, but we'll see how it works.

Also added two 23 watt cfls. 6500k

Changing the box today. Cleaning up the inside a bit, changing the exhaust/intake a bit. Trying to be more efficient.

Also adding 4 23 watt cfls.
Possibly two or three 13 watt cool cfls. Maybe... We'll see though.

Doing temp tuns before putting the buddies back in there now.

Came home to my AC shut off.
Temp was 87!

Under control again though.

I've transplanted her to her larger, and hopefully final home.
Decided on useing 90 percent perlite. Just to experiment.
Cut with happy frog.

Raised the lights

Light watering with plain water.

Well after the transfer, one watering, and the lights being raised...I think things could be going better. Some sort of burn is happening since my last watering, and I have some lower leave curling going on.

Oh well, one problem at a time, and ill see if I can't work things out.

Hey timotei,

I was just looking over your grow and I hope you don't mind but I had a couple thoughts / suggestions...

I like the idea of the DIY Co2 generator but in all honesty I don't think it will make a large difference when growing only one plant. What I mean is, plants use Co2 like we use oxygen to breath, and if there were say 10 plants in your grow room then they would be consuming a considerable amount of Co2 from the natural air and would greatly benefit from supplementation. But when growing just 1 plant, I wonder how much it can really use up from the natural air around it. Just my opinion of course...

I noticed you said you couldn't get you pH meter to work and I would recommend you getting a good one AND some calibration solution. I got a cheap pH meter when I first started growing and never even thought of constant calibration... It was basically like not having a meter at all. When I breifly tried hydroponics I invested in a higher quality meter (Hanna Instruments ~ $90) and was happy until I finally found out that all meters need to be recalibrated constantly... Finally I got on amazon and bought some calibration solution and the difference has been night and day! I have had no nute deficiencies or problems whatsoever since. I simply take out my calibration solution and check my meter everytime before feeding. Usually no big differences but once it was WAY off, glad I checked. Anyway, I'm rambling now. Maybe you already know this stuff, I just thought I would chime in and give my 2 cents

:smoke: Peace

Thanks for tho comment cliff. Appreciate it. I really do want to invest in a proper meter, but later down the road I'm thinking. I've gotten pretty solid readings with my ph papers though.

I bought some molassas yesterday and dissolved some in some water. Added tiny amounts of bio thive and cal mag plus, with a few drops of ph down to lower the over all level of the solution. It will probly be a bit before I feed her again. I want to let the soil dry out for a day or two first.

I've had to remove the larger fan leaves due to cancerous spots appearing everywhere. But this did expose a TON of under growth, so hopefully those grow a bit now.

So after seeing her tonight, I'm pleasantly suprised at what I saw. The new growth is looking well, and I thing I might be alright. ( knock on wood....)

With the larger fan leaves removed, the little leaves below have really taken a liking to the new light. Well see how she goes.

Ac came unhooked... Temps were 85 :(

Now 78

85 isn't bad. In the southwest and my closet is always low 80's and the plants are toughing through. Good looking plant bro, best of luck for a lady
