Dayz(arma 2)

Anyone play DAYZ it's a zombie survival mod for ARMA 2 Operation Arrowhead. If you haven't played it or heard of it you should defiantly check it out. Its a lot different than any zombie game ever made, it has a huge map that's around 225 sq. km and has tons of different cities, towns, and more the world is open and you can explore or do nearly anything you want.

The mod is multiplayer though you can play a single player verison but the multiplayer makes the game. The servers have 50-60 players and a lo of the game revolves around PVP(Player Vs Players) conflicts though it's PVE(Player Vs Envirment) too. Don't expect the game to be like BF or COD or L4D, it's hard and takes some patience and it's not a game for everyone but it's worth checking out its a whole new exprience for zombie games.

The mods currently in Alpha stage but is amazing for an alpha, there are some glitches with spawns and zombies. As for your character it's based on your games key so your characters saved on a database although if you die your characters deleted and you have to respawn as a new one. It might be annoying at first but it adds a whole new level of suspense to the game. You also have to get food and water to survive and medical supplies. The cities are extremly dangerous usually filled with players and zombies especially along he coast.

ARMA 2 Operation Arrowhead is $20 but you need ARMA2 or ARMA2 free to play it you can get ARMA2 with OA for $30 on steam or just the free one and buy Operation Arrowhead. ARMA 2 is a military simulator with realistic ballistics and more. ARMA 3 is coming out later this year and the Dayz guy is going to be at E3 with them.

This looks so badass. So I can get ARMA2 free then buy operation arrowhead for $20 and i'll have this mod DayZ? Or Do i Have to buy the $30 ARMA 2 then spend an additional $20 to be able to play the zombies? Just looking for clarification because the way you wrote that confused me. Honestly, though this looks like a whole new gaming experience. I'm going to check the website but what are the system requirements for this game? It doesn't look like it requires a high-end graphics card or anything like that. Can this game be played on a laptop with minimal lag? This shit looks so awesome, too bad I don't get paid until wednesday.

ARMA 2 is $20 alone $30 for combined operations which has both ARMA 2 and Operation Arrowhead though you only need ARMA 2 free and Arrowhead full for $20. If you want both full get Combined Operations it just depends if you want the full ARMA 2 or just playing for DAYZ.

If you have a decent laptop should it should be fine, it doesn't take too much power I heard its more heavy on your CPU than GPU.

At night unless you have NV goggles raiding towns for supplies is extremly risky. Though players will have a harder time noticing you at night unless you have flares out tho zombies will notice you the same as they would during the day.

People type stuff in the side chat usually though be careful with grouping up considering guys might kill you the second they see you. You can use a mic in game but since only the global chats really work no one uses it cause it annoys everyone. Though some servers might have a teamspeak server. So I'd say unless you have a mic already it probably isn't worth it to get one.

I think they're renting out servers for the mod not sure how much though.

Whenever I get my computer built, I plan on getting this game right off the bat. Any blades off GC who have it/get it when I have my comp built would be awesome to have.

Also, on a side note, the game world is 225 sq. km which translates to about 86.7 sq. miles. If that's right, that means the game world is roughly ~80-85 miles in total. That is a LOT of play space. Then again, I could be wrong because sq. mi and sq. km aren't linear measurements.

Once you feel paranoid you know you're in the game. It's huge bigger than skyrim's world.

Get it from steam it should work fine I had ARMA 2 free on steam worked great just isn't the full game till has multiplayer.

Downloading from steam now, hopefully my laptop stays on while I sleep and this is done when I wake up.

Now I'm completely intrigued in this game..I might have to grab it tomorrow as well.

Pretty sure you need the Xpac for ArmaII though. Combined Ops shouldn't be more than 30.
