How much is appropriate to ask from my grower?

Discussion in 'Medical Marijuana Usage and Applications' started by domodomo5, Jun 3, 2012.

  1. I get my card this week so I have no pretense as to how much bud is appropriate to ask of my grower. He sells to dispensaries so in trade of signing him as my grower so he can grow more, he has offered an ounce/month. Is this appropriate? Should I ask for more?

  2. no need to talk of actual cash values and such.

to me a 1/4 a week doesn't seem like enough.

1 plant will give you 1/4 lb or more....

4 flowering plants means a lb of herb every 4 months

almost an once a week...but wait... you get to have more than just 4 plants..so ya, a least a oz a week if you grew your own...or more...

to me...seems the majority of YOUR medicine is being sold for profits...someone elses profits...

    JMHO:wave:

  3. But those profits cover the growers costs, and for quality, top-shelf stuff, i would be completely ok with the grower selling the excess.

I mean, I grow my own, it's fun and rewarding. However, most people don't have the right situation to do that. So, OP, I think that's pretty reasonable, but i would ask him what he actually pulls each run.

  4. Tell him you want 25%. 'Nuff said.

  5. What state and how many plants are you allowed to grow? Something ain't quite right here.

  6. Half a week.

  7. Would four ounces/month be excessive?

If he pulls that, then no. Like if he pulls 5 ounces a month, i'd say 3 at least. But yeilds can change. I've never dealt like this, so I dunno.

EDIT: No as in, not excessive.

  9. Would four months in jail be excessive? Again, what state are you in? This may qualify as conspiracy depending on how it is set up. Do you need 4 oz per month? You aren't planning on selling it are you?

This is legal considering I have a card and he is my grower. I am in Oregon. I am not creating conspiracy, I am asking the question of how much am I entitled to being that he is growing for me. I do not plan on selling it, and frankly, that is irrelevant to the question I am asking, but thank you for your input, still.

  11. You can have 6 mature and 18 immature plants in Oregon. Perhaps someone here can shed a little more light on how much yield to expect from those plants. The real question is how much do you need? An ounce a month is only a gram a day. If that's more than enough, then it may be a reasonable agreement. If you need 2 grams a day, then it's not going to be enough.

  12. You said that your grower is selling to dispensaries - possibly the excess that's bagged by not giving patients all their plants? Sounds illegal to me, but that's your problem. Every one of the plants he grows under your card is YOURS.

    (5) All usable marijuana, plants, seedlings and seeds associated with the production of marijuana for a registry identification cardholder by a person responsible for a marijuana grow site are the property of the registry identification cardholder and must be provided to the registry identification cardholder upon request.

  13. ya...sounds like there are some touchy legal issues involved with this operator....

best bet...talk to a mmj lawyer...or use a pay phone to ask the state how your grower can operate...

  14. I'm an Oregon medical patient as well, and I have more than a couple friends who have Grower's and Caregiver's cards for other patients. To my knowledge the combined amount of Marijuana that a Patient + 1 Caregiver + 1 Grower can have in possession is 24 ozs (1 1/2 lb) of dried buds/leaves/trimmings/concentrates/etc, and 6 mature budding plants (anything over 1ft x 1ft) along with 18 immature plants (anything under 1ft x 1ft and not in flowering). My friends who grow solely for patients can pull 4 ozs from a single mature plant (minimum) meaning they can get over 24 oz from 6 plants easily. Technically you are entitled to every gram of bud grown by your grower. Ask him what his harvest cycle is, if he's pulling 6+ plants every month then I would ask for at least a half lb each month.

  15. If your getting an ounce a month of top grade you should be happy. I don't give free meds to patients, at least not top grade. They want free, they get lower bud and then pay the same as I sell to the dispense. Otherwise they get cost. Just over 200/o. If you don't like it grow it. It's easy

  16. As a grower (in washington) if you give me your card to grow for you: First we are allowed 15 plants no matter what size and 24oz or 1lb & 1/2 lbs.
So If you want me to grow for you and pay nothing at all, just your "green card" i don't see how you can ask for much.
I have to make it worth My time, money, materials, space, knowledge and hard work. i would offer you an oz per plant and no more than that. It all sounds like fun and games until you actually have to do the work.

if you think about it. 15oz x$200= $3,000

Thats 3,000 dollars in weed that you got for absolutely nothing but a green card which cost $100 dollars in washington state. now for next harvest, lets do it again because your card lasts for a year! :)

  17. You must be talking about a caregiver. I want to be a caregiver. I would enjoy that type of work in the MMJ feild.

  18. 2 1/2 to 3 months for a good sized grow. That's around 4 runs. Unless you're doing outdoors of course.

  19. So you want to grow my 15 plants and give me an ounce per plant per harvest? Let's make it happen

  20. There is a grower in Humboldt county that is offering to sell to anyone in the us.emailed me a menu and method of paying. you receive your order overnight ups / fed-ex....How scared should I be?....Not afraid to lose a couple hundred dollars....but having troopers roll up after i receive a package?....no thanks....i have permanent nerve damage to the spine creating intractable EXCRUCIATING pain.(9 spinal surgeries, csf leak, 2 rebuilt knees) I don't know anyone down here in the south and I only get out once a month to the pain clinic...The meds I am on CAN NOT be abused as they do not give any "euphoric" sensations like oxy or fentanyl which I hate. CertAIN STRAINS OF MMJ help a great deal so you can see my wanting to believe this is ok...too good to be true?...usually is!....Any comments would be appreciated....thank you all in advance...
