Staff editing my sig?

So I've noticed somebody has change my signature around. They removed the link that sent people to my Soundcloud page featuring all of my music, while leaving the link to a GC thread where I released my first album.

What gives? I'm assuming a staff member did this and it wasn't a glitch, but I suppose anything is possible so if it was a glitch I apologize. But if it was in fact staff... why remove a link to Soundcloud? Numerous members have it and I even cleared it with some staff members since it linked to an outside site.. So why was it removed?

I would PM the mod that did it, but I have no idea who it could have been because I never received any notice that it was being changed. It just happened o.O.. It seems unlikely that it was just a glitch since only one part was removed, so why was it removed?

Since staff has previously okay'd the link and it was removed without explanation, I'm adding it back until there's clarification as to why it isn't supposed to be there.

I would PM RMJL just to be sure it was not some big mix up. And maybe look to see if you got an infraction, if you didn't I would think it would not be a huge problem, but definitely PM RMJL on this

No it didn't, you received a warning which explained that your signature was over limits.

OP, I'm not sure what happened with your signature. I see no record of it being removed. I'm sure RMJL will see this and have a look for you.

I'm not showing anything in reference to it being removed but I am also not showing anything in reference to anyone giving it the 'ok'. I know I didn't give it the ok.

While I don't see soundcloud as being a bad link, if we allow you to have an outside link 'advertising' your music, then we'd have to go on massive sig patrol in regards to everyone's outside links to determine what they are 'advertising' because if they see you do it, everyone will do it.

I really wish that the "About Me' part of the Profile Page could include things that didn't necessarily show up in every post...something more of a 'real' About Me than what it is.

As of right now, having the link in there, especially now the issue has been blasted on the site with this thread, is a bit much. However, the whole signature issue is going to have to be looked at anyway so who knows what the future will bring.

Mods tend to have higher post counts because we're constantly posting...more than others.

AS to the original question - now that you've been told by RMJL that you can't have the link in your sig, why is it still there?

Because I don't live on GC 24/7, so sometimes it takes time after a post is made for me to log on and see it. Hence why I haven't responded to any posts thus far in this thread.

And linking to a SC is really considered "advertising"? Nothing is being sold and it's not like it even tries to dip into taking people away from GC, so I don't really understand why that wouldn't be allowed >.>.. And again, a staff member DID okay it and I have the PMs. I know it's against the rules to post those though, so how should I go about proving I have them?

So if having a soundcloud link in my signature is still a "bit much" for Grasscity, despite previous okay and the fact that no other staff member has objected to it in the months it has been there, I will remove it.

It was probably just reported. Sig patrol is not our main priority and most sigs are reported and dealt with in that manner. As far as the 'OK', you are welcome to report the PM's or forward them to me; however, in the end, I make the final call and the final call was made.
