  1. ***GROW START***

This grow is for a patient of mine and he started a journal of the build on his account, but wanted me to take over, and post the grow up for you all..

We're growing out Tutankhamon, which was one if not the highest recorded THC level in 2011..
The recorded THC level was 33%, but no where can I find the CBN and CBD levels, just the THC level, and no lab sheets too...
    So I don't know what we're going to get, but we'll soon see, huh ... ??? !!!

    Total Room: 7 x 11 x 8

    Lighting:
    4 x 600w MH/HPS Radeon Digital Ballasts.
    4 x HydroLux 6" Hoods.
    2 x Sub-Zero 6" Inline Blower.

    Environmental Control: Sentinel CHHC-4.
Chamber Cooling: 12K Standard Portable Dual Duct A/C. (el'cheapo  )
Humidify Control: 70 pint Analog Dehumidifier
    Co2 Injection: Hydrofarm 1-15cfh gauge/reg and a 20lb tank.
Chamber Circulation: 16" Air King wall mount and a 16" Lasko Oscillating Pedestal fan.

    Strain Grown: Tutankhamon
4 x 8 SCRoG and the screen 10" from the tops of the buckets.
Ebb&Gro Monster (DIY system and the controller bucket works off gravity).
    45gal Tough Tote Trash Can.
1340 GPH Sunleaves pump (pushes about 300gph at 8').

Total cost: Who cares really, I say not enough, the wife says too much, but maybe $5K... :D

OK, I have a short 4-1/2' basement below which is dirty and too nasty to grow, but stays dry..
I chose to build the grow above, use a DIY 6 site Ebb&Gro Monster system, and all the equipment is in the basement..
So the res, pump, and ballasts are in the basement...

The lamps' cooling sucks from the basement hallway and vents into the basement..
The A/C does the same, sucks and vents into the basement...

Now I have to eat crow and say to my buddy Unhinged, "ya you was right", WAY too much heat being pumped into the basement.
Oh and YES Unhinged, you do see that first blower behind the first set of lamps now... :p

So to deal with all the heat from the chamber, I'm now using a 8" x 14" x 4' duct that the A/C and lamps' heat vents tie into, and then that central duct vents directly outside via a 6" x 28" opening that goes right out a basement window... I took out the window and boarded it up, then screwed the central duct to the board, and cut a 6" x 28" opening in both... So now all heat is vented directly to the outside of the house..

Anyway, the seedlings are 6 days old and going into the Ebb&Gro sites so I can start this dam Grow Journal rockin...
To make it simple, when ever I update or post pics I'll start the post with **** and then I'll label it (eg. ****PICS****)

I got to get them in the buckets SOON!!

I've just been slammed in work lately and being a sub-contractor, it's my time to gather up all the nuts for the long cold dark winter, so I've been really packing on the nut gathering time... LOL

It nutts to the wall until like mid Aug. and then starts the slow slide into the cold winter.. ;)

  9. 1 potato.... 2 potato.... :p

Ummmm, ya, first seed cracker (rounded), then seedling blade, then young plant leaf, then from that point on, they will starting forming normal leaves...

THUS why I GOT TOO get these in the buckets SOON!! :D
They are past the week of seedling and moving into young plants weather I like it or not... LOL :smoke:

Lol I think I'll be there as well in about 3 days.. So what's going on in the RR? All these roots are sticking out and they see light and no moisture so they stop growing and it puts out roots in another direction looking for somewhere to go?

  11. Well kind of ya...

I think what it does is give the tap root more resistance, so that promotes what tap root has grown to create other arm to seek out water, and maybe find a path of lesser resistance though the soil (or RR in this case)..

So personally I believe its the resistance the Rapid Rooter puts on the roots which make them branch more, than say a soil or Rockwool.. Because we all know from Areoponics we really only get one main root and very little root branching of equal size of the main tap root...

Thus why I believe it to be the resistance put on the tap root which makes it want to create another to find a path of lesser resistance...

    If that makes sense...??

    :smoke:

I totally agree to this, the reason being is when using a 50/50 perlite mix I've notice root grow hit the side walls long before they reach the bottom.

  15. Nice to see you back in action here Jake

  16. ekomsi :hello:

    thanks :D

If I can keep my head low enough, maybe I can get to post up a complete grow...

  17. Well I almost got them in the buckets today...

I thought maybe it would be more fun to run my 14" hunting knife across my thumb's muscle, and then spend the rest of the day getting 14 stitches in my hand...

But dam it, I was wrong, it was not more fun, and I should have just put the plants in the bucket.. :D

PICS OR IT DID NOT HAPPEN... :smoke:

So maybe I'll get all doped up on pain meds and get them in the buckets tomorrow... :confused_2:

Wtf..... Seriously the most accident prone guy I know.... If you didn't have bad luck you would have no luck

  19. Ya, that's why I'm the supervisor and not labor... ;)
Guess I under estimated my capability of sharpening knives... :D

All I wanted to do is cut a slice in a bucket so I could get a jig saw blade in it..
Seen my hunting knife hanging right there, grabbed it, and the dam knife cut the bucket like butter and kept going..
Went right through the bucket with very little resistance, too bad I was applying a lot of pressure...

Cut down into the bone and there was a nice nic in the x-ray...
Thank God only cut nerves and just missed my thumb's main tendon...

So really, I was lucky, and it's just stitches, which are nothing...
I will take them out myself in 2 weeks...

  20. Holy shit, should pin this mother fucker up on the wall along with your finger... Buddy, you need to walk around in one of those bubbles.

This read was extremely hard to get threw.... lots of visual upstairs... lol

Just wondering, not that its any of my bizz, but what does something like that cost for you guys? (Ya for free health care!)
