Yeah, I'm pretty proud of this stuff!
Well, that real big jar of trim pictured in my second harvest posted HERE: http://forum.grassci...ml#post14350464.
...yeah, this is that jar!
Haven't weighed it yet but I've smoked a decent little bit :smoke:.
There is also a second wash that I threw a little pile of dried up bowl resin into (why not?) that I have yet to scrape up.

...but here is the thing, I don't have the patience to drain thru a coffee filter, and I really don't think its such a big deal to go without filtering it THAT much!
SO, here is my work around,
I took the center piece of a mason jar lid
laid it out onto some fine mesh steel screen you can pick up at most hardware stores for pretty cheap
(its about the fineness of most screened in doors and windows.)
traced circles
cut out about 6 of them with scissors
layered them paying attention to arrange the grains providing as much filtration as possible.
put that in the middle of a ring, screw it on the jar...
and THAT is good enough for me!

I put trim in a jar
I let it sit in the iso
I shake it with a regular lid
I switch to my screen lid
dump it in a dish
and put fans on that shit

Feel free to convince me that its worth my patience to use coffees but this is my second batch with my screen filter and I feel its just as good as the 4 batches I had done with paper coffee filters and its a billion times faster!

the only problem I see with using that screen is plant matter getting though. which will make it less potent and a darker brown/amber color. when you get a really good batch it will be gold. I'd say use that screen but also pick up some cheese cloth to get the finer stuff out. coffee filters suck!

Thanks man, I was kinda bummed this thread went unanswered. These kids don't care about weed, they care about gettin' fucked up and how to hide it from their parents :(

:hello:

i love that mason lid idea me and a friend have been thinking about doing something like that for a long time.did you connect the screen to the lid some how to make it a permanent screened lid?

i always use unbleached coffee filters ripped in half and make sure the right side is facing up. heres some pictures of my iso product :D

^^^Nice stuff man!

...and no, I did nothing to secure the screens. They fit well enough that there is no need.

I should have some more trim in the next couple months, maybe I'll do two side by side washes! one with my screen and one with another filter and compare the final product.

Sounds like a fun experiment! ...if I don't forget :smoke:

thanks!

that would be a fun experiment. i feel like the one without cf would be great for bowl toppings but might leave a little residue on nail if dabbd. still looks good to me though

i love me some iso, dont forget to check out the isohead thread
