So, I'm planning a camping trip for about 16-20 people (actually, its less camping and more just drinking on the beach for a few days) and I need ideas for food and munchies.

We have a propane stove and a grill/firepit and coolers and running water.

Anyone have some good ideas that for cheap (cheap is best) and easy camp cooking?

STAGG chili! You can get it in a can and sometimes in a box :) Just heat it up and you'll some super dank chili.

Hot dogs/brautwurst just cook it on the fire with a coat hanger or a proper metal poker/stick and throw it in a bun

Hot dogs, burgers, brauts, corn on the cob
A good recipe my dad taught me was something called "hobo burgers". You take a ham burger and potatoes and wrap it in foil and let it cook over over the fire or grill. Tastes damn good and fills you up. :yummy:

Kill a deer.

Lol. Sorry, that's a different trip.

We may go fishing though.

Thanks for the ideas, guys! I may hold off on the chili though. The idea of 16 people ripping ass around a fire just doesn't really appeal to me....weird, don't know why.

Lurk around another camp site.

Wait for them to throw the food on the grill.

Have a friend distract them, but make sure to do this when you think the food is cooked thoroughly.

While their backs are turned, grab the food and run.

I call this the "Seagull" tactic.

Yeah instant ramen or other noodles, s'mores, dry cereal, stock cubes to make a broth or drink, jerky, that 2 minute tortellini, sharing size bags of chocolate... Just traditional campfire food I guess??

If you have access to a vacuum sealer, you're golden! I normally prepare 2-3 nights worth of meals (chicken in sauces, or soups) then vacuum seal them. Some I freeze, some I chill. Reheat by boiling water and putting the sealed bags in there... cook up a potato or rice and your set! It's going to take a few trys to figure out what works using this method and what doesn't. Stews and soups are pretty good, chicken cooked on stove top, or pot roast are winners too.

For a five day camping trip I plan to catch enough fish for 2-3 dinners, bring 2-3, cereal/oatmeal and fruit for breakfasts, cold cut sandwiches for lunch. Tons of trail mix and protein bars to fill in the gaps.

This. The best camping food ever. Sharpen a stick and cook that shit up. The best are these Chedder Sausages I forget the exact name of them but they got chunks of cheese right inside the fuckin sausage! Theyre amazzing, when the cheese starts drippin out onto the fire you know its ready. I pretty much live off these things when I go camping.

Also chips, chili, any meat u can cook up with minimal effort and you cant forget the sunflower seeds.

I know youre looking at cheap stuff but when me and my one buddy go camping we always split on a huge bag of shrimp and garlic butter. Cook it up on a frying pan on a lil propane stove and its sooo fuckin good.

Beanie Weenies! For bonus points, add bacon and chopped onion.
