Growing with the rents approval

So I've been growing that plant we all love and this is my second season. I spoke to my mother who spoke to my stepfather about the possibility of growing MEDICINAL marijuana in our backyard as we live in a small town in a subdivision relatively close to farms, when I tell people where I live.. Well.. They've usually never heard of it, so.. Yeah. I applied for my medical marijuana card back in November once I was legally allowed to, and I was thankfully not rejected. I have severe insomnia and can be in bed for approx. Five hours without even nearly falling asleep. Anyways, back on topic. My parents have allowed me to use their backyard to grow marijuana for this outdoor season, but I don't know what strains best suite Ontario, Canada. Right now I'm growing some seeds which my friend claims is Master Kush, so.. I hope he's correct, because from what I've heard, Master Kush does not have a very pungent smell unless it is rubbed or broken. Is this true? Can anyone add to this? Thanks in advance to any response!

Aha thanks a lot man it's changed my life completely, I used to find it hard to get motivated, and function really, now.. Totally different.
And okay, well, I'm just worried about neighbours, they don't all know I'm legal so..

Not sure on the strains but it's awesome you got your card. I need to find a doctor around me who can help me out. I'm curious though, as a grower do you need the smoking license too, if you wanna use your own product? Or does that come as part of the agreement with the growing license?

Where I am, you don't apply for your grow license, it's a medical marijuana card that gives you the ability to smoke medical cannabis and go to dispensaries to buy it. However, based on the severity of your situation, your doctor may choose whether you need your own plants or not.

Alaska Thunderfuck grows in cold climates, therefore the name... I don't know about the smell though

I've had it before.. It's a dank plant but, it's a tad fruity, so it might work.

Originally I went to my doctor for it he's based in Toronto, I told him about my sleeping disorder, and after tests he diagnosed me with severe insomnia. I do not know who/where he specifically went to but I told him I would not take pills as I refuse to take sleeping supplements. He said there is another option, and I took it. He wrote me a prescription that I had to take to a local municipal building, to have it approved, once it was approved there I had to be entered into their "system", photo ID, etc.. And I received my card in the mail! It is alot more complicated for some people but I have a feeling my doctor has done this before.

It's great to see that medicine is advancing and this plant is getting used how it should nowadays. Even though most people still think of it as a drug, we are getting somewhere.

I totally agree. I realize it does account for gang violence and that good stuff.. -.- but it helps others quite a lot.

But see that's where we go wrong. Because that's not the plant's fault, it's our own. And then, and I'll give you an example, my mom found out about me, and sheinstantly thought I was linked to some delinquents or some shit, and that I was on the streets, when all I do is smoke maybe 1 joint every 2 weekends, if not once a month. I've explained this over and over and she still won't see it. It hasn't changed my life a bit, it's just that now, instead of getting drunk on weekends, me and friends occasionally get together smoke some pot and play videogames. Is that SO bad?

No you are totally right it isn't bad and that's what society needs to see. As I get older, I won't go out, smoke with a couple friends, and come home and beat my kids, like you just don't see that. However I could go out drinking with the boys, drunk drive home, possibly kill someone, and beat my wife and kids, and then, I won't remember a single thing in the morning. But which one is accepted in society today?
