so i'm thinking, well fuck, can't go home empty handed, so i rent max payne 3, and out comes the same fucking shit. had to call redbox and get my money back.
what i do not understand is why these clowns bother returning the cases if they are just going to steal the game.

I'm assuming she used a stolen credit card seeing as how it would be the dumbest crime ever if you used your own card

he said a game though and you have to have a hacked system to play burned gamesWell you can only return it if the barcode is on it so if they put the barcode on they don't have to pay for it. Idk if you actually tried the disk but I've rented movies that turned out to be cdr disks, but the movie was actually on it

So the blank cd had a bar code .... How did it know where to store it when previous person returned it.....

there's a paper bar code that is taped around the inner edge of the disk. they pulled that off and taped it back to the blank cd, and that is how they fooled the dispenser to accept the game as returned. the only way i can see people using their legitimate cards and getting away with this is by claiming that it must have been the person before them that did it. maybe claim that they didn't bother reporting it because it was only 2 dollars, and that is something red box cannot dispute. still, risking fraud charges for a damn game is pretty stupid.
