They sound like soil mites, springtails, or some other soil insect.....more than likely the insects in the soil are beneficial & a sign of healthy soil. Root aphids can be destructive, but they are rare and I highly doubt that you have them.

Whiteflies, like the name suggests, fly around and suck sap from the undersides of leaves. They don't hang out in the dirt.

Hope this helps,

let your soil dry out a little bit more inbetween waterings.

the larvae of gnats can eat your roots.....but that is only if your plant is entirely root bound. fungus gnat diet mostly consists of what their name implies - fungus! the flying gnats DO NOT eat any parts of your plant. fungus gnats can be a sign of healthy or unhealthy soil.....but in your case with seeing other bugs, ide say you have nothing to worry about & your soil is healthy :D

ok so i had not watered in like a week just so the soil could dry out i know the plants can handle a dry spell better than over watering so i let them dry out and then when i watered again the top layer in 2 of the 5 plants were like swarmed with those little white things jumping around its really annoying to deal with these things every time i water and i dont really know much about watering from underneath my plant was just curious if you had any ideas on how to handle the bugs? also i stopped watering all plants as soon as i noticed the bugs
