Does Marijuana cause you to not have dreams?

Discussion in 'Apprentice Marijuana Consumption' started by Ariees, May 23, 2012.

  1. Disregard my last thread on the topic of weed and dreaming, this is a completely different topic... But while reading through the forums I see that a lot of people say and are aware that they dont have dreams due to their marijuana use. Can anyone explain why this is? I googled it but cant find any thing.

  2. this happens to me. I hardly have dreams when i smoke. But if i take a t break i can actually remember my dreams.

I think marijuana messes with rem cycles.

  3. hmm i have exciting dreams and marijuana is my lifestyle

  4. There is an interesting article about it here:

  5. I dont think it really messes with the REM cycle. Well I mean it could, I get really really really good sleep when I smoke before bed. AND I still have dreams, quite often. It may just be different for different people. I cant wait for more studies to be done on Marijuana. Theres so much about it we dont even know yet.

Edit: Never mind haha. Thats pretty interesting though. Maybe I'm not getting as good sleep as I thought? It would make sense.

  6. You dream every night.. It just depends on if you remember the dream or not. Now when I am high I dont remember shit.. So it makes sense.

  7. ive been dreaming about alien phenomena and stuff aallott lately , is that weird o_O

  8. I had a lucid dream once when i smoked before bed. I also have times when i dont remember having a dream at all so, i think it depends on the person.

  9. No i dont think so, i have been having super vivid dreams lately.

  10. I am a medical user and use a lot. I don't remember any dreams and I get the best sleep I have ever had since becoming a medical user and increasing my dose.:D

    Good shit, huh, Maroki?

    :smoke:

  11. Hell yeah but I love having dreams about fucking black men. So what are you trying to say????

  12. You definitely can remember your dreams if you try.

  13. It makes it more intensified and all my dreams are prophetic so i can get it down to scale really easily exactly what happens. Odd, but meh, whatever.

  14. Marijuana clouds your short term memory.. So take this example.. You smoked 3 bowls from your bong before bed.. You hit bed, you dream, you wake up, Your mind quickly races over bits of your dream that you remember.. Then, it is gone, as a result of the clouded memory, dreams arent a high priority to remember, thus your mind isn't making that MUCH of an effort to actually remember your dreams and store them in your database.. UNLESS your dream is very controversial, life changing, or likewise.. You probably wont remember anything about it(except maybe the outline, but never any details..)

IF you infact DO remember every detail of your dreams(and you are a heavy smoker)... I salute you because you are putting much more effort to hold onto these clouded memories, effort that I dont care to give :smoke:

Fuck this .. Im going to smoke more weed :hello: :bongin:

  15. TMI Ned, WTH, wow!

Anyways, all I'm trying to say is, they have a lot to learn on REM sleep and cannabis, that's all!

    :smoke:

  16. Not really... We pretty much know what marijuana is how it works etc. but instead of politicians taking this knowledge and investing it. They continue to fight amongst their pissy party's until they produce a mutant off spring kind of bill that will end up doing more harm then good. It's like for Gods sake take 5 minutes outt of your day, get the cotton and timber industry off your dick and LEGALIZE MARIJUANA.

Whether it interferes with REM sleep is irrelevant to me, as I wake up rested and rosey fingered each morning; this, mind you, after a long (hard:devious:) night of ripping ye old g bong.

Speaking of g bongs they should make a glass/acrylic non ghetto substitute for gravity bongs, they would make so much money.:smoke:

  17. I never dream when I've been smoking, if I stop for 2-3 days I'll start to dream again, often they are more vivid after a couple of days break

  18. I have noticed that if I go to bed sober I have a much higher chance of having vivid dreams that I remember. Gets kinda crazy sometimes. They seem completly real.

  19. The reson I think most smokers say they don't have dreams is because when they quit, they have crazy vivid dreams and interpret that as normal dream recall, but several days later stop having these dreams and forget them again.

I have dreams even if I smoke before bed. BUT I practice lucid dreaming and probably have an 'above average recall'.

  20. in my case it has done the opposite i would never have dreams until i started smoking which was around 13
