So maybe you guys know about me from my other thread. But here today I'm going to take you on an adventure of a lifetime. An indoor cherry tomato SCROG. I'm going to keep it small, so thats why I picked cherry tomato and I still have some work to do on the setup.

I need to go out and get some reflective material to make my lights more efficient. But thats really all I need. I need to also do a little researching on SCROG, possibly in the indoor growing forum. I'll let you know.

I measured my grow cage, and cut some wire fencing to fit in there perfectly and snugged it up with some black zip ties. So here are a couple pics so far of my setup.

I have some things going on today but by tomorrow I will have pics of the cherry tomato potted and in the SCROG ready for training. Keep checkin back!

Got the plant indoors. Check it.

I used an organic soil mix I bought, some bone meal (which I never used so we'll see what happens), and worm castings.

I'm not sure why all the pictures are sideways. I'm usin an iPhone, I guess I'll have to look into that lol.

Bone meal is good for flowering and fruiting.....and earthworm castings are really high quality and add lots of good things to your soil mix! You can also make AACT (actively areated compost tea) with it!! Great stuff!

I'm interested in seeing how the scrog is created. It seems kinda like bonzai!!

I know, I have seen some really impressive pics online....let me show you a couple....

The attachments I posted I would like to say are NOT my pictures. But this is kind of what I want going on.

The first picture is just something I had to add in there and obviously I'm not going to be able to do that in my small ass place, but just a pic that OG pointed out to me earlier. So just in case, this is the website I got these pictures from.

I will be doing alot of reading on this site because it seems very informative about SCROGing tomato plants.

And TEX, so you're saying that the bone meal was a good idea for me to use on the new cherry tomato plant?

Normaly you would wait until pre-flowering occurs to apply a high phosophorous fertilizer but since the bone meal is super slow release, it's OK. Generally you give seedlings and young plants a nitrogen fertilizer like blood meal or another nitrgen based fert. From what I understand, Tomatoes like lots of phosphorous anyway so it should be cool. Just be sure to include some Nitrogen, too cuz bone meal only has phosphorous

This is really cool!\
I have actually been tossing around the idea of growing some hops scrog style in my flower box so I like to see someone else on the same track.

Best of luck!

I'm gonna be totally honest with all guys, I'm not sure how to SCROG at all.

I know that the plant will grow into the screen where the tomato vines would be and if anything is in the way of the vine growth to trim it.

Everything I looked up on SCROG was on cannabis, which isn't the same thing as tomatoes at all when it comes to SCROG......I think, lol.

I read that one journal I posted and it really didn't provide any good information for me on like trimming or training. So I'm just gonna wing it guys and see what happens.

The top of the cherry tomato is about to hit the screen so I gotta figure this out soon, lol.

And if anyone has any info for me on this please hit the thread up, I would love to hear your opinion.

I just finished my first couple rounds of scrog with canna, and it really seems to be pretty straight up. Once things are growing into the screen, trim everything from under the screen. Not much else to say.. Just tangle a canopy of greens up in that screen and hope for the best!

Thanks man, at least that gives me some kind of info, lol. I think my lighting situation is gonna be a problem. We'll see how it goes with the cherry tomato but if it's not enough light I may need to keep my eyes peeled for something smaller.
