Medical Marijuana Grower (So Cal) - Class Presentation

Hey all,

I am currently taking some Horticulture classes at my local community college, and our final project is to interview someone who works in the field where you would like to work... In this case, it's Medical Marijuana.

As my final project, I am to give a presentation to the class, and some faculty, on a horticultural industry of my choice. The purpose of this project is to gather information on the horticulture industry in San Diego in an effort to help students decide what area of the business that they may want to pursue for a career.

I will need to get some general information about your history in the industry, what, if any, education you have related to the industry, a detailed description of what it is you do on a day to day basis and what your primary responsibilities are. I have a list of questions to ask you as well, I won't bore everyone with those.

I would like to do a one-on-one interview type thing, preferably in person, but considering the semi-legal nature of this industry I understand if you want to do it by email/phone/PM. And if we do meet in person, I would like to take a look at your grow to get a better understanding of the grow process.

Some background on myself: I'm 25 years old and work as a Web Developer in San Clemente. I'm taking some Horticulture classes to learn the science behind plants (specifically Cannabis) and how they do what they do. I'm interested in starting my own grow, at first for personal use, then eventually I would like to sell to Dispensaries. I have been an avid reader of this site, but haven't ever posted. I know that some people can be a bit put off by this and won't respond, but please know that I will keep your name/info confidential. I'll just pick a cool pseudonym and refer to you in my presentation by that name.

I see you're from Fallbrook - there was some damn fine bud coming out of there in the 70's (I was there). That's about the last time I grew too, so I'm not of any use to you, but I'm sure someone will be more than happy.

Just an idea, but you may want to contact High Times or something like that to see if any of their featured growers would do an over-the-phone interview or E-mail, like Danny Danko or whoever else they feature. You might run into roadblocks considering the nature of it, that they will want to stay as anonymous and confidential as humanly possible, but it wouldn't hurt to try...they might also be able to hook you up with someone else that can help.

There are also some great books at Barnes & Noble from him and others about all stages and methods of growing. Anyways, I hope you find a grower and get your project completed and everything, you should post it after you've presented.

I happened to meet a grower by accident yesterday. I went to a friend of a friends house yesterday to chill out and found out that he grows. I asked him some questions and what not, but I would like to get some more info on large scale growing.

I'll see what kind of information I can get from High Times.
