I want to keep my place clean, but at the same time I have no motivation to do so. Like, I don't mind living in a "dirty" place. I don't mean my place is filthy, but there's some clutter on the floor. My desk is full of crap. Kitchen counter tops aren't clean. Stuff isn't put away. Floors are dirty...

I'm much happier when the place is clean, but at the same time it doesn't bother me when it's not clean. Two weeks ago I cleaned up the whole place real good. I told myself then that every Sunday I want to clean up. Pick up, clean floors and bathroom, etc. Well, two Sundays have come and gone, and I couldn't get myself to clean. It's not even like I have a huge place either, it's just myself in a small studio apartment.

I'm sure it's like most things, in that I just need to do it a few times and it'll become a habit. My problem is I can't even manage to do it those few times!

I never cared if it wasnt clean and organized either...and my old room looked like a random assortment of crap thrown everywhere....but then I got in a relationship, and my gf is the type that is borderline ocd with how she cleans and likes to keep things in its place...so it was a huge change for me and when I need to get motivated to clean, I usually just remember how good it will feel when it is done and I have a bowl ready for me as a reward.
Remember, the longer you prolong something, the harder it seems to complete.

I like to smoke beforehand, I don't seem to mind cleaning as much after I smoke. A nice bowl, toss some tunes on, an then go to work.

I spent 4 hours yesterday marathon cleaning, reorganizing, throwing away, etc. It's just all in your mind to keep yourself going, it's really no problem if you tell yourself you will do it.

clean as you go. when you dirty something, clean it immediately. if you sweep the floor every 2 days or so there is hardly ever any work. keep it clean and you barely have any work to do. if you see something that needs to be done, don't think " i should do that" just, go do it.

get a little high, not too high lol

blast some good tunes

make a list

do the list

its better to throw on some upbeat pumpup music so you can bust out some pushups, situps, pullups while you clean

I don't have to motivate myself.
I can't stand a dirty room so it never gets messy.
now days I only smoke once or twice a week, but if I'm having a super stoney week my room tends to get kinda trashy after a few days.

Invite more women over. The only time I ever clean is when I know I am having a member of the fairer sex over. Even if we're just friends and I don't need to impress. I just don't want girls to see the disaster that is my every day haha.

I'm in the process of moving out of my house into a new apartment and have been cleaning/packing a ton. I always just take a couple hits from a small bowl and crank up a great pandora station.

Brahmabull's got the right idea though, crank in some push ups, sit ups, and pull ups to really get going

I guess I'm what people call a "clean freak" but I hate cleaning, especially the kitchen and bathrooms. What I do is never let anything get dirty. I clean as I go in the kitchen, and never let the bathrooms get gross. I always wipe down the sink when I use it, and keep the toilet bowl and seat spotless every day. I'd say it takes me 10-15 minutes/day to tidy up the bathrooms and the Kitchen really never gets trashed unless it's Mexican Food, Christmas or Easter.....then I have friends that help after dinner.

I've been getting better about at lest getting dishes done every night. This last week was tough because I worked so much o/t and my hours kept jumping around, but the week before I found a way that works for me.

Before, I'd always sit down to vape. Maybe watch an episode on netflfix, browse the web, tunes, whatever. Well, that's pretty obviously not a good position to start in when you want to get shit done. :P

So, I set p the vape on the kitchen counter. Turned it on and started doing dishes while taking hits throughout. Was cool, actually. I got high doing dishes lol. But that's how I gotta do it. I did it for cleaning too. Just started picking up or sweeping and take hits while doing it. The more I clean, the higher I get. Kinda a reward system I suppose? Whatever, works for me. And I really like having the place clean.

Thanks for good advice blades.

I actually use weed to help motivate me to clean.

My usual routine is I'll get nice and high, and then put on a podcast I've been looking forward to hearing or put on some music. Gets me in a positve mood and then I don't mind cleaning, i can just get into it/zone out and get to work.
