Lets grow something together. 1st grow journal. Strawberry Blue

Hello grasscity. I've been a long time reader and observer, but now I feel it's time to stop messing around and make this legit. I've been growing for a couple of seasons, but all amateur closet grows. I'm ready to learn about all the fine details that make a harvest amazing, and I'm hoping you guys/ladies will be willing to give me a hand. For me this is a hobby that turned into a passion, and I'm very excited to get started. I'm open to any and all advice. I'm admittedly a noob, and would appreciate anything anyone has to offer. And if you too are a new grower and are looking for ideas on what to do yourself, ask me anything and I'll try to help as much as possible. Also, I'm always down for checking out other journals so send them my way! Alright, lets get started.

I just received my seeds from world of seeds (ordered through attitude) and my sweet f'in mug! I got 7 strawberry blue fem. seeds and 2 freebies. An original amnesia and a white siberian. Very excited about the other two, although I've actually never heard of either of those strains. Anyone have any experience with those two? But anyway, those are currently germinating in a paper towel. I've tried both paper towel and the shot glass method for germinating and generally have more success with the paper towel. Idk.

My grow room is an extra room in my attic, which unfortunately gets pretty hot in the summer months. However, I've got an AC up there to help with the heat. I'm growing in a 4x4x5 secret jardin twin. The room is kind of a mess right now,because I just finished up my first grow with this tent. It went ok, but I can do better.

I'm rockin a 600 watt light (veg light is a badass bulb and i forget the brand of the flowering light, i lost the box). I don't always have it on 600 (sometimes 400), but I found that the extra 600 helps a bit during flowering. I've got a 6 in fan on the floor outside the tent which blows cool air into the tent/over the light, out of the tent, and finally out of the room via a hole in the wall.

I'll be using the complete general organics with advanced sunshine mix 4 coco coir. I've been using the GO line since I've started growing and like it. I've made plenty of mistakes with it, but as I've gotten used to it I like the results. However, when I run out of nutes I think I'm going to be trying the nectar of the gods line. I've heard awesome things. Any one have an opinion on that? Anyway, I've never grown in Coco before. My first time was a major noob mistake and i tried running these nutes in a dwc. Stinky.... Then i tried fox farm soil with some success, but I really like the process of hydro better. idk why, maybe it give me an excuse to pay more attention to my plants. idk. But anyway, i saw a youtube video of this guy who did an entire grow with coco and the GO line and had amazing success. So i want to try lol.

Question: Does anyone have experience with the black diamond? Should I use it for hydro? I can't imagine it would hurt it at all because you're only supposed to use it for the first 2 weeks of veg, but idk.

But that's about it for now. I've got to get the room nice and clean, and wait for the seeds to germinate. I'm looking forward to working with those of you interested, and like i said, send me your links. I love checking out other people's set ups. Until then grasscity, this bowls for you.

Update! The original amnesia seed and two of the strawberry blues and sprouted, so i put them in root cubes and into the dome. Very excited.

Making progress. All the seeds have sprouted. I also added two blue hazes. Very exciting. Pictures coming soon.

ughhhh i've been without internet! sorry for the lack of updating ( if there is even anyone reading...)any way, all the seeds germinated just fine and sprouted! Growing Strong.

How did those Strawberry Blues turn out? I am getting ready to try one this grow.
