Hi all,

it's been 32 days since i germinated my two EZs but just now I decided to have a journal because I really need some advice, since my plants are confusing me. :(

First, here's a quick overview of my setup:

Strain:
Easy Ryder (autoflower, fem.)
Light: 150 W HPS on a 20/4 light cycle, distance from plants about 25-30 cm (11 inch)
Soil: regular soil for flowering plants - brand is Compo Sana with 3% perlite, pH 5,5-6,5 N = 200-450 mg/l P = 200-400 mg/l K = 200-400 mg/l.

Day 29 - first time adding nutrients:

OK, this brings us to present day, day 32/33 - bottom leaves seriously dying:
Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image

...but besides that, plants look quite fine:
Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image

I water them every 4-5 days with about half liter of tap water, with few drops of lemon, pH measured at about 6 - 6.5.

Started feeding them ferts for flowering plants 4 days ago for the first time (Compo Guano N:P:K = 4:5:6), 1/2 of recommended dose. Today I gave them another 1/2 dose of ferts, and I won't be fertilizing again for 2 next waterings.

Could somebody tell what's wrong with this plants??

At first only lowest leaves started yellowing, I cut them off, then the next pair yellowed and dried out, I cut them too, now the third pair is yellowing and drying, and fourth pair starts to yellow too. Buds and upper leaves look quite well, but I'm affraid that whatever's wrong with the plants will spread upward onto the whole plant. :(

Any comfort?

Hey, I wouldn't worry to much but It could be N deficiency as for the upper leaf tips yellowing, mine did this and then got no worse since so no worries there. The only other thing I can think of is do you get any of your water on the lower leaves?

Yes, I noticed the yellowing of tips isn't gonna be a problem. But lower leaves dying could be, I hope the fertilization will show some recovering on them, if not maybe I should change the nutrients brand - I just noticed I bought a bottle which has date of production 2006., but it doesn't say it has an expire date.

They shouldnt go off as such but it may be an idea to switch, if you are in the uk my plants have had B&Q flower nutes since week 2 now at full strength and well, you've seen them ;) have you ph'ed your run off btw it may be a soil ph problem the one on the right does look at little worrying but not too bad.

I'm not in the UK, a bit more to the southeast :)

Anyway, i corrected pH of my tap water to be about 6 - 6.5, first with lemon juice, and then when I added nutes for the first time, it was about 6 - 6.5 without need of lemon. Bun run off was slightly more acidic about 5, 5-5. I don't have precise measure, I have some drops for fish tanks.

Nm then. In that case you may want to try and get the ph of your run off up a little that may be your problem, I'll see if I can find a link for you.

It's looking real good! I like the LST job.
Unfortunately, I have no idea what the yellowing leaves mean, sorry.

Day 36:

I suspect that the yellowing is N deficiency. Today I bought a new fertilizer because the one that I was using was over 6 years old and I didn't see any improvement on the plants with it. I bought blooming fertilizer (N:P:K = 6:8:8) and fed 1/2 of dose today. Here are my plants right after watering/feeding:

Hope they'll recover now

Day 42:

Still some confusion between my plants, one seems to have recovered, but the other one continues do yellow and loose leaves. They're having the same treatment so I cannot imagine what is the matter.
The one that has ben less developed is now the one that's doing much better and now has thickest flowers.

I just hope the one that's still sick will manage to stay alive for another month till the grow is finished.

@ Al - it's all right there in my first post. Those are 5 liter pots. I know I probably should have used bigger, but there's not much room in my growbox.

Anyhow, I wont worry as long as the yellowing doesn't spread to bud leaves.

ruh, thanks for subbing :)

Quick photo update, day 49:

Although both plants had same treatment, the second one is much healthier and bushier than the fist one. These are the pics of their main colas:
