im wondering what strains anyone can swear-by as excellent pollen donors. please list old established stable strains and newer strains that are not merely F1's.
im also curious about the strains unknown breeders of the world have created. i know F1's made of elite clones mated to seedstock can be outstanding. anyone spread their favorite F1's around and see them go on to be famous? anyone stabilize their crosses over generations of backcrossing... and if so, could you detail your method?

RC Clarke and Greg Green both have great books on this.
a per "pollen donors", there are no strains that breed "studs". but any strain can create an atypical male suitable for crossing out .
it's all about the plant numbers processed and a trained eye IME
