Hello all, after browsing this forum for quite some time and gathering information( thank you everyone), I decided to start my own garden. A friend of mine sold me a 1000 watt heating system and gave me some blueberry seeds. I've read on there that blueberry is hard to grow for beginners but I decided to give it a whirl. I have the light about 2 feet about my pots and I have a fan creating a nice slight breeze to the plants. These are pictures I took today and are about 2 weeks after germination.

These are my biggest:

The top left one's tips have turned yellow. They've been like that for awhile. The plant keeps growing steady though and the yellow tips doesn't really get better or worse. Some plants are taller than others and I think the reason behind that is when I started them I had a bunch of plants growing in a tupperware bowl. I read that it wasn't good to do that because the roots can get tangled and it spreads nutrients. So i transplanted most of the to red solo cups and it might have stunted their growth for a few days but they seems to be growing pretty steady now. I'm going to transplant all of them in the red cups to the bigger pot tomorrow.

Going to transplant these tomorrow:

This one is looking like the worst of the crop. Has yellow/brown spots. I'm thinking it's something to do with the ph levels maybe but I haven't gone out and bought a ph reader yet. Something I'll do in the next couple of days.

I'm growing in my attic. It's a nice place to grow because you have to go in my bedroom closet and up a ladder to get up there. Hoping it won't stink up my apartment either.

I'm using a florescence light with 1000 watt output. I'd say it's good for an 8x8 area, but I'm also new at this.

I'm has summing you mean a 1000 watt HPS or mh light, but an 8 x 8 is stretching it for that even....most say a 1000 w HID light is suitable for 5x5

And if you aren't running a carbon filter, you will most definitely stink up your place....the smell from even one plant can penetrate walls. Attic grows are sketchy in winter if you get snow as you will be the only house with no snow on the roof, telltale sign of a grow and an easy bust for the cops.

How about only posting relevant info that is pertinent to the thread in question and rather than posting just to nitpick which clutters things much more than my multiple posts. : rolls eyes:

I grow in my garages attic. I put insulation on my rooms ceiling. You cant tell the difference. but before I put the insulation you could see my footprint of the room when it snowed sketchy as hell. That lasted about an hour before I ran to home depot.

Right on, just wanted to make sure you were aware of that issue....good to hear you got it dealt with. :). I still think you need to look at a carbon filter though, that garage will stink if you don't.

Yeah you're right. is my set up looking alright for the equipment I have? is setting my pots 2 feet below my light fine? I'll post updated pictures later and I'll try to get one of an overview of my setup.

also about my attic, I have people living above me, or it might be a hall way I don't know...That might be a problem. It was half my landlords idea to grow them there so he won't be an issue. I just hope it don't reek upstairs.

Update

I went to walmart today and picked up some pots. I also picked up a digital thermometer. I've been growing my plants too close to the light, they were too hot were I was sitting them which could be the reasoning on the yellow spots and yellow tips on 2 of the plants. I got the temp around 80 degrees by sitting them on the ground. Walmart has really sucky PH testing kits. I might hit up a pool store tomorrow.

This plant fascinates me the most. The leaves are very droopy, by far more droopy than the others, but the plant looks pretty healthy and it continue growing. I failed to mention that there are 3 or 4 NY diesel seeds I planted and was stupid of me not to label them. Should I be able to tell the difference in strains this early?

Here is an overview:

I have another question I hope someone can answer. The yellow spots and tips on the 2 of my plants haven't got any better or worse but the 2 are still growing crazy fast. Can they yellow turn green again or are the leaves scared for life?

Hey guys. It's been 4 days since I posted. they seem to be growing pretty well. If I get down close enough to some of the plants and smell under the leaves I can start to smell that skunk smell :). I'll post some pics.

The bottom leaves on the plant below have turned a pretty bright yellow. I'm not sure why but the rest of the plant seems pretty healthy. It's the same droopy one that's in my last post. After I took the picture I clipped the yellow leaves off. One of the yellow leaves actually feel off as soon as I touched it.

Chill out mate, sometimes its easier to repost than it is to edit. All 3 of his posts contained more useful infomation that your 1 post did. Chill your beans.

Anyways, good luck with your grow, coming along nicely. But as Shova said, i would probably look into a carbon filter, or even a DIY Carbon scrubber or your place will stink.
