You saw it first on GC:
In an attempt to prevent cross border smuggling the Dutch have decided
to permit only Dutch nationals to use the local coffeeshops.

The coffeeshop owners have and will fight back I was told today
...we gotta wait an see!!

Oh well I can get weed where I live easily. I never understood people who go all the way to Amsterdam JUST to smoke weed.

It's not just about smoking weed, I think it's more about experiencing the lifestyle (being able to freely go into multiple shops to smoke, eat) every day in a cool looking foreign country. A vacation with lots of good weed:bongin:

Don't quote me but I think there is some kind of loophole that will allow the shop[s to sell to tourists for another 4-5 years. And they will figure out something within that time frame to keep tourists puffing. I could care less honestly. Doubt I'll ever go to the Dam. If I go over seas I'm checking out way cooler stuff than Amsterdam.

I dunno man Amsterdams a pretty cool place, Ive travelled alot of europe and i really dig amsterdam and not just because of the cannabis. It truely is a beautiful city with an amazing atmosphere round the city. Its got alot of art to admire especially some of the street art, And theres usually somethuing quirky and intresting round most corners.

wait i'm pretty sure that this will only be in the southern states. cafes in Amsterdam are still open until January 2013, no?

whew. I mean it still sucks in general, but I'm going to be in Europe from september to december, so I still have a chance to smoke in the Dam :smoke:

the dam is over rated.....all of the towns around that area all look awesome....and still have many dispensaries from experience i think they only sell 5g at a shop so i went to the one around the corner and copt 5 more ...i am still going to the dam sometime but go to any coffee shop this weed is dank as fuck anywhere:smoking:

I agree with you OT, the experience is everything, after all, you wanna get ya monies worth, no big deal now, but back in the 70's and 80's, the dam was about the only place to get good seeds, but with many states going legit
it's no hassle for us the get them hi THC seeds.

I am going to be in the southern parts of the Netherlands in about a week or so, mostly in the city of maastricht. does anyone know if ill be able to get pot? i know the law went into affect, but many of the news sources i have read state that some coffee shops still sell to tourists as a retaliation against the new policies.

I understand that Maastricht, is one of those places that support restriction, many are pissed at the tourists from France, Germany etc etc are flooding the place then smuggling the MJ home.

yes i saw it thanks, i posted in several threads, im leaving for europe on may 9th and just trying to get some answers so i can make some sort of plan of what to do in the netherlands. thanks
