So here is my new micro journal. I probably won't be updating quite as often, as the growth characteristics of Blue Widow are not as novel to me this time around, since I just did a batch of BW. I regret not running the White Widow instead, it would have been worth the week wait in extra veg time. I've done 3 grows so far. The first was Nirvana Wonder Woman:
Posted Image

The second was Nirvana White Widow which I consider sort of a failure
Posted Image

And the third was almost exactly the same as this grow, except with a 400W light and a 96W LED UFO
Posted Image

This time around I'm doing Blue Widow under 600w for all of flower, the plants were in DWC under T5 for veg. I also vegged under the 600w HPS for about 5-6 days so the plants would generate a few more tops, as since I only topped these plants a couple times they didn't have as many tops as I liked. The extra veg time helped, but the scrog type tops are less manageable than the equally distributed topped kind, so I have been unable to keep the canopy as even as last time. This will surely negatively effect yield. That said, the left plant is much taller, probably due to the 600W light. I also swapped the bulb around so there would be more effective area.

That brings us to today. I have been constantly defoliating the last few days. There are a lot of thin stem tops that I want to just trim off altogether, as I know during harvest they won't yield very much for the amount of work to clean them up. I am still hesitant though.

The right side is much shorter than the left side, which I think is okay, because they are different plants. I was considering throwing the LED in there on that side, but I don't know if it necessary.

I'm also preparing my next grow. I have two white widows in my DWC veg tub, however I'm becoming convinced that I hate my white widow pheno.

They are wirey and grow sideways. I remember how little it stretched last time as well.
I cracked a Super Lemon Haze bean a while ago, and have taken two cuttings from it already. As I mentioned earlier, I regret having chosen the Blue Widow to run again, because there were clones ready. If the Super Lemon Haze clones take within 10 days, I will likely swap them into the veg tubs, even if it means I will have to veg them a bit in the flower chamber.

This is my SLH mother:

I'm finishing up the new mother cabinet, here you can see the ebb and flow system I built for it

As you can see, my mother/veg cabinet is full up! The extra little filing cabinet will make a huge difference.

Thanks for following everyone! Wish me luck.

Dude our grows are looking quite a bit alike.... I just can't get those massive trunks like you can with the buckets..

I'm glad you let these go a bit higher this time than the ones before. I did the same thing this time.. really seems like the big tall ones is where its at...:smoke:

I think 12" for a 600w completely uniform might be the best. For a 1000w, I'd probably go 18". I love watching your grow, you should do side shots like I do, I like to see the height. I think what makes our grows look different is the high density scrog. I go for 1 top every other square, and sometimes every square, which is way more dense than most people attempt, because it hurts yield unless you very aggressively defoliate. I have to defoliate a lot more than last time, I think it will increase yield significantly. Or at least make trimming not as crappy.

I'd like to see your trunks too, mine are about the size of a bic lighter if you revolved it around. Also when I have my recirculation on, the drain back is slow, so I think I got rootbound again.

Dude, I kind of don't know either. It seems like I just put them in there and now they flowered pretty quick. I even vegged them longer in the flower cabinet! I'm not sure what caused it, but I think they transitioned a lot faster than the last time. Maybe the difference is all in the 600w, the difference between a shitton of light and darkness flipped em quicker. I think I might be able to harvest at 55 days now.

The Blue Widow I harvested has very little smell. It didn't have much when I was growing it either. I hope it smokes nice, still haven't tried any.

Thanks everyone for following along!

Still haven't tried any of the BW? Whatcha waiting on bud??

I think the 600 will make all the difference in the world! I noticed the plants grew a hell of alot faster when I put the 1000 in there.

I'll do some side shots for ya for sure. I think aggressive defoliation is the key to growing huge plants indoors.. At least it's working out great for us!!!:D :D

I think you're gonna love the SLH in the future...and remember she'll really fill out in flower...so not as much veg is needed

For the cure mostly, still not out of the white widow from the last grow. Girlfriend just smoked some BW for the first time a few days ago. Smells good after you grind it up.

subbed :)

I am really looking forward to it. So much so that I probably will do whatever it takes to run it next under a 600. The mother seems like a heavy feeder already.

I've almost decided to retire my White Widow and Wonder Woman strains. I'm just not that impressed. I need to stop being a pheno hoarder and try to find some awesome phenos!

I should probably crack that AK47 bean soon so I can get some cuttings off her in time for the next batch.

Hey Chiro, I appreciate the help you gave. I ended up transplanting the bbb into soil-less mix this morning. Question: Do you live in the US? or what state?

My canopy is probably too dense. I should start cutting stems, but it's always harder to get yourself to do that when you have to cut down stems with actual bud and sugar on them already. I should have been more judicious and trim the "losers" earlier.

Here you can see I've defoliated the crap out of the front stems, but it's hard to defoliate near the back. I really should do more.

 that's a lot of buds right there, you need to cut to get proper lights on buds?? or it can affect them??

My tent is kind of full and my NL barely have space some buds are about to start touching each other. Been thinking of cutting down stem also without causing too much stress

Anyway those girls are looking awesome :smoke:

wow that's super dense...better get in there and start hacking before the little stuff sucks up anymore more juice. I'd judge em directly by stem thickness and ignore looking at each individual top. It's hard to do but it all well worth it in the end. I had to hack the crap outta my plants when I flipped them into flower.

...damn you might need a machete.
