KK den GrassCity, here is my 4' x 8' SCRoG Build and Grow...
A lot of dis is going to be DIY, so I'll be trying to post as much info as I can..
If there is anything you have a question about, just ask...

Also to make it simple, if you want just updates and pictures of the grow, when I update or post pics, I'll head the post with **UPDATE**..
Just search the thread for **UPDATE** and you'll get just the updates and pics...

So, what I have is a 7' x 11' x 8' room and a short 5' basement below, dats dirty and not good for growing..
What I plan to do is put everything in the basement, just having the lamp cords and hydro feed/return line coming up through the floor.. Dis should give me almost the fill 7' x 11' to play in...

The SCRoG screen is going to be 4' x 8' and run down the center of the room, giving me 1-1/2 ft. on the sides of the screen.
So I will be able to get to 3 sides of the SCRoG screen, and I'll end up hangin a 600w off to the side for playing...

1 - 4' x 8' SCRoG
4 - 600w HPS within sealed hoods.
2 - 6" 400CFM inline blowers for the lamp cooling (1 suckin and 1 blowin).
1 - 6" 400CFM inline blower with 6x24 carbon filter (just hangin cleaning the chamber air).
1 - 1 to 15 CFH Co2 regulator and 20lb tank..
1 - 12K BTU Sunleaves portable A/C.
1 - 70 pint Dehumidifier.
1 - Sentinel CHHC-4 controller
6 - DIY Ebb&Gro sites.
1 - 45gal res (trashcan)
1 - 1340 Sunleaves pump (13.7 ft head lift and at 8' head it's about 250 to 300GPH)

I think that's everything...
Right now just working on the res, installed the drain that I will put a shutoff valve and a hose that runs right into the drain...
So to drain the res, just open the valve, when empty, wash it out, close the valve, and refill...

**UPDATE**
OK, put up the light rail...
It's two 2x4s anchored using 4-1/2" lag bolts into the wall studs..
The two cross rails are 4x4 fence post and I went with the 4x4 for the cross rail because if I used a 2x4, it will bow after a while..

Because my ass is maybe 35lbs wet, I had a 230lb friend hang from that cross beam...
So hanging a couple 30lb lights no problems.... ;)

This way I can slide the lights if I need too and also add another bank by adding another 4x4 cross beam..

I think this may work out just perfect for the lights... :hello:

Lmao landscape ties, Nice! The flat area should be nice to work with. Those fuckers like to twist as they dry out more so just keep an eye on them :).

Ya, I know, and they are as wet as a $1 Ho too... ;)

But figured they are not going to bow as much as a 2x4 would...

I'd buy two 2x4's and screw them together from both sides (if I had to buy 2x4's) it would to 10x stronger then the landscape tie. Everything coming together as you have planned so far?

Ya, I only hangin 4 hoods and only 2 hoods per post...
So I can't see it being more than 60lbs total..

If they bend, oh well, I'll just use them in my outside garden, and do what you said...
Maybe cost me $9 to replace them with two 2x4s, and the ends are open, so it's just slip the new ones in... ;)

Oh and been too busy with work to really start on it... :(

Rough. I'm going to cut both my TV and my Flower room this Friday/Saturday. There a week apart so I thought it would be interesting to try.

**UPDATE**

OK I was going to do the DIY Ebb&Gro using a feed and overflow manifold, so each bucket would have a dedicated feed and overflow line, but changed my mind, and just going to do a control bucket.....

So here is the control bucket...
Right now I just have the 3/4" feed fitting and 1-1/2" PVC overflow installed..
I will add 2 more of the 3/4" fittings for the balance lines, and each fitting will hook to 3 buckets..

So your not going back to the makeshift RDWC are ya? Or do you mean a control bucket for floods?

Im thinking about making a different system for my TV. Was thinking a RDWC, just annoying having to water all the time with coco, i like to set and go ya know?

It's a control for flooding....

So I will flood the control bucket which will flood the rest until the control hits its overflow and start dumping back..

Why R??
Why not just DWC and be done with it..
Then put a drain in the bottom, so you can drain/fill the tub, and a sight tube...

I understand now, :) i read control and i was stuck on R... Think you'll have enough water to fill both the long tube and the above unit(s) with out cav'ing the pump? Just a thought that came to mind.

Ya, it was a thought, thus the 1-1/2" overflow..
Because I have to use a 1340gph pump to get the lift, the buckets will be about 7-8' above the res, so this 1340 has a 13.5' lift,
and it's about 300gph at 8'...

The next pump down is only a 9' lift and at 8' about 100gph...
So I'm going to end up with more volume then I really need, thus the 1-1/2"..
The overflow is just going to elbow twice before the dump into the res...

Also it's only going to flood the "inserts" to about the 3-1/2gal mark...
With the insert/hydroton volume, I'm thinking each bucket is only really going to hold maybe 3gal each, so I'm thinking 30-35gal in the res should do it...

What you think???
It's really the same as the Monster Ebb&Gro system that uses a 50gal for 6 buckets..

3/4 tube at one foot should hold roughly 100ml of water. So that's 0.02642 gal. So at 8' that's 0.21134 gal per tube of displacement. How many buckets?

I think your just going to make it, just can't let the water level drop to far. I say you'll have roughly 4.5-5gals of play.

At 45 gal or 35 gal??
Cause the res can do 45 gal if need be...
