Last grow ended abruptly - but I learned quite a bit with what I had. This time around I have better lights, medium, actual nutes, and a great grow area. The only unfortunate about this is heat. That is my biggest concern and am doing what I can to address this issue.

4x4x6.5 ft tent
380 cfm rated carbon scrubber w/ filter
465 cfm inline fan (have controller as well)
Veg - 400 MH (50% to reduce heat)
Flow - 600 HPS (50% to reduce heat)

Passive airflow through three bottom vent flaps and filter/fan extracting air from top of tent (above light) and pushing extracted air out 2 ft ducting. Went as short as possible to create least amount of drag and most amount of air flow. Have used A/C (apartments) to directly push air into fitted vent hole but it is well over 100 degrees here in summer and I am on the second floor, so I simply cannot afford to be using what little cold air I have in tent.

High temps have been 85 (lights on in the middle of the night)
* pretty regular temp but sometimes it dwells at 80

Low temps have reached 75 (ending 1st week flower and 12 dark hours from 12pm-12am)
* I keep apartment at 80 during the day and turn down to 75 about 9pm

Humboldt Soil - Coco and other organic amendments
* Want to start creating my own compost and start early in my growing life using organics - but since I am in an apartment I am already pushing several other limits and I'd rather not have to figure out to deal with that smell too :)
-----------sweet success smell

I have looked into cooltubes and love the idea and its benefits and the DIY methods are plentiful. I will do that when I can afford it. And then I can use my lights fully as I am only able to power them at 50%

These are two clones that I vegged, trained, and FIM'd for a month. I decided they were excellent candidates because of their stem structure, it made it easy to pull the tops below others and force auxins back upwards. Also I did not want excessive stretching so I kept the light close and did the balancing act with training.

I believe this is "Juicy Fruit" but I've know way to know for sure, but if thats right my flower time should be 7-9 weeks so I'm in this for a bit longer hehe

I have a move coming up and will be mid flower - i plan on renting a uhaul and getting everything moved in one trip - but am moving from an apartment...to an apartment. So having the least amount of stress on the plants is my goal but I must balance that with the light cycle and the overall safety-ness (what?!!?) of the trip.

Attached are the photos. Enjoy and thanks for checking out my family/

PS - would love thoughts, constructive criticism, anything. I'm hear to connect and learn - I am the sponge.

hey man, nice looking plants youve got goin, how long you plan to vege for? ive just rooted a sativa dominant strain(like yours?) i also struggle with heat issues and have battled all summer and spent alot of money trying to fix it, coming into our winter now and temps run nice at 20C - 26C in both our rooms now, do u have two rooms or just changing your bulb when flowering?

Changed when I went flower. They got about 5 weeks of veg total. I have an area sectioned off now for veg portion but its a mixture of t5's and cfls, its 3.5x4x4 and its the thick plastic with white siding to reflect the light. Totaling about 300W of mixed light spectrums. Got pics of your set up?

Was a nice day for the two today. Lots of fresh air for them and temps around 77 during dark. I got to examine them and lots of healthy growth but today was the dry day an just gave them 16-24 oz of Gen Org's box line up.

Any way pics up tomorrow.

Started Week two of organic nutes after a heavy water and a dry day. Seen some significant growth, up to 4 inches in some areas. And am excited to get them boomin!! 3 Gallon buckets - wondering if in three weeks I could transplant to a 5 gallon aeration pot (like smart pot). Any way here are some pics.

Thanks

They both are very thick stemmed now, very tree like. I gave full nutes yesterday before their sleep time (12p-12a) and water 2 times since. When they wake up tonight, I'll get some pictures taken. It is pretty difficult for me to not trim when I see messy or beneficial areas that could use it. I have read people trim before flower and then trim/dont trim/get popcorn areas....etc...

thoughts?

As promised. Pictures. Enjoy!! Their names are Betsy and Mary - You can see their names attached on the sides of their respective pots. Betsy has one of her roots exposed but it has been that way for quite some time, I keep pushing soil up over it but it doesnt seem to be hurting her at all. Mary is vegged one week less that Betsy but doesnt have the same stem structure which I'll take advantage of. I plan to harvest them at the same time but am hoping that with the week difference that Mary will have trich's that are more milky - head high. I love the body high so will be shooting for amber colors on Betsy.

Later everyone:smoke:

Pictures!!!! Betsy is a monster, while Mary is taking her time. Granted Betsy has a week more of vegging and a much different build. Both are showing great signs (hairs), from the beginning I have babied them as much as possible but heat has been an ongoing battle. 83 is pretty regular and while it may give me airy buds, I still jump at this chance to learn everything else I have gotten to practice my first go around. Here they are. "Good morning!!!" they say......

:smoke:

Again, love feedback and general comments.

Ummmmm - more pics :) Color is a bit flushed from the HID but at least I dont have vertical lines to bitch about lol. Patience is another huge battle for me but it is exaggerated cause of the move coming up. Happy growing blades

Here with a daily update! I think I have decided my first real step into growing with this round. I am very pleased so far with Mendo Mix and am feeling a bit better about temps. 84 is truly too high but it is not as devastating as I was making it out to be. Next time I will be better equipped for it. Have also honed in on some other a more comfortable style for myself as the grow has progressed!! Woot. Here's hoping the pics upload right from the app.

*crosses fingers*

Gonna give it a few days before I post more pictures. Heavy feed last night and heavy watering tonight. Will water in the morning and then give it 12-14 hours to dry a bit. RH has been consistent between 30-35% and temps 82-86. I feel like the two plants are eating more than me. Gahhhhh fatties!!!!
