Alright I sold my computer to a buddy and he is having some issues already.. it ran fine for me and he hasn't downloaded anything, I have experience with computers but I am having trouble troubleshooting this issue.
His windows 7 ultimate loads really slow all of a sudden, the mouse drags like crazy and everything seems slower, he only has 41 processes running.
Anyone know whats up?

When was the last time the system was defragged? Did you wipe the system before you sold it to him? Usually wiping out windows and reinstalling will clear up problems like that and it's something you probably want to do anyway since you could have years worth of personal information just sitting on the hardrives.

With that information, there are so many things it can be. Have him run an anti-virus/anti-spyware software.
Avast free, and Malwarebytes should do nicely. See what comes out there. Then check the disk to see if it needs to be de-fragged. If it's still acting up, then we have to consider other issues.

Sounds like video driver was uninstalled. When Windows loads a generic video driver, everything becomes slow. Like when you drag a folder or a window across the desktop, it trails and shit. Check the video driver first. If that's not the problem, scan for malware. Download hitman pro, malwarebytes, and combofix. All of these are free.

Quick fix would be to wipe the hard drive and reinstall windows if its a software issue.

My computer has a built in recovery and when my computer started acting weird after a couple years of use I just ran the recover and was set back to the factory default. Runs perfectly now, just had to reinstall all the necessary stuff like programs I wanted.
